Friday Night SmackDown dropped to one hour debut, Boogeyman Note
On Saturday, September 3, 2005 at 2:52 PM EST In yet another problem for WWE SmackDown's jump from Thursday to Friday night starting next week on September 9th, the show will now be cut down to one hour according to UPN. A "Shelter from the Storm" special will be taking place on UPN to help support Hurricane Katrina victims. To check out UPN's schedule for that night, click here.
For those wondering, the debut of Marty "Boogeyman" Wright has been delayed due to Wright suffering a hyperextension in both of his knees. Wright suffered the injury while working a House Show match a few weeks ago against Steven Richards. WWE has stopped playing vignettes for his debut on TV until he is fully recovered. So, for those who thought the gimmick was scrapped, that doesn't appear to be the case.
On a related note, WWE will be making up their rained out date in Frederick, Maryland today. For those who remember, this was the event where Boogeyman began cutting a live promo and right as he finished, a loud thunderstorm broke out almost on cue. Some photos from that event can be seen at this link.
