According to reports, Mick Foley received a nice signing bonus in regards to his new deal with World Wrestling Entertainment. Foley stated earlier this week that he didn't use his TNA offer to gain a better one with WWE, but many feel Vince McMahon did all he could to prevent Foley from going to TNA and helping their debut on Spike TV this October. Foley's current deal with WWE states that he will be returning to WWE TV and will be taking part in some matches. He will also have the ability to still take part in outside projects with various independent wrestling promotions as he has been doing for quite some time now.

It should be noted that if Foley had taken the TNA offer, he would have started an angle with Samoa Joe. A feud between Foley and Joe was teased earlier this year in Ring of Honor and Foley even stated on a taped appearance of ESPN's "Cold Pizza" program that he was interested in starting a program with Joe. That segment has yet to air, but led many to believe that Foley was seriously considering the TNA offer. This isn't the first time Foley has dropped Joe's name as he pushed for WWE officials to sign Joe to a deal. WWE's response to Foley's suggestion was that Joe wasn't a "look" they were going for.

There is still quite a buzz within WWE following the commercials for TNA airing last week on Spike TV during RAW. Many WWE employees are said to be taking a "wait and see" approach towards TNA's run on Spike, hoping that it will provide some competition to WWE and in turn make their product better and in doing so provide another place for wrestlers to work.

Advertisements for the return of WWE RAW to the USA Network on October 3rd are said to be running on NBC at this time. As noted when WWE first struck the deal with USA earlier this year, the NBC Universal conglomerate is no doubt working in WWE's favor at the moment.
