According to a report on the Mixed Martial Arts website MMAWeekly.com, Spike TV has approached Ultimate Fighting Championship about presenting a live UFC card on Monday, October 3rd to run opposite of WWE's Monday Night RAW return to the USA Network. Although details are sketchy at this point, the live card would feature a good number of fighters who were regulars on the first season of the "Ultimate Fighter" reality series that has followed RAW previously. On a related Spike TV note, according to October TV listings, TNA's Impact program will also see a second replay take place on Monday evenings at Midnight (11 p.m. Central) for those who were unable to catch the show during its normal Saturday night timeslot at 11 p.m. Eastern. This means wrestling fans can tune into TNA one hour after WWE RAW concludes on the USA Network, making Monday night another popular night for pro wrestling.

I spoke of this situation with my good friends the Trey Dawg & JSK on Wrestling News Live last night and Trey brought up a great point in how this move is basically what killed WCW when they would air replays of Monday Nitro. Many fans would make the decision to watch WWE programming and then switch over to see WCW programming during its replay when ratings quite frankly didn't count. The archive of our conversation should be available very soon.
