Matches announced for WWE RAW's return to USA Network in October
On Tuesday, September 20, 2005 at 3:35 PM EST A few matches for WWE Monday Night RAW's return to the USA Network on October 3rd was announced last night during RAW on Spike TV. The first will see John Cena defend the WWE Championship against Eric Bischoff, while Matt Hardy and Edge will do battle in a "Money in the Bank, Loser Leaves RAW" Ladder Match.
Of course, others confirmed for the show include Steve Austin, Hulk Hogan, Mick Foley and the return of Triple H. WWE Legends confirmed for the show as well include "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan, Jimmy Hart (who is the manager for the current NWA World Tag Team Champions The Naturals in TNA), Hillbilly Jim, Superstar Billy Graham, The Iron Sheik, "Rowdy" Roddy Piper, Fabulous Moolah, Mae Young, Harley Race, Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka, Chief Jay Strongbow, Greg "The Hammer" Valentine, Nikolai Volkoff and Koko B. Ware.
As reported earlier, this will be a three hour event that will start at 7:55pm Eastern/6:55 pm Central. The original reason for the five minute early start time was that Spike TV planned on running a live UFC event to go head-to-head with RAW. However, with Stephan Bonnar suffering a clean break of his right hand recently, the event may be in question since Bonnar was scheduled in the main event to face James Irvin. Either way, we hope to have more information regarding the status of the scheduled live UFC event.
