TNA signs a new wrestler, Aries note + Soundstage 21 getting upgraded
On Wednesday, September 21, 2005 at 11:06 AM EST According to reports, Roderick Strong signed a deal with TNA in the last few days. Although Strong had been used in the past in TNA including appearances on Impact! in the Fox Sports Net days, he made his official return at the Unbreakable PPV on September 11th in a very impressive match against Austin Aries.
On a related note, Austin Aries has or is about to be offered a deal from TNA as well. The former ROH Heavyweight Champion has been used at the last two TNA PPV events when he faced Christopher Daniels at Sacrifice in August and against Strong at Unbreakable two weeks ago. Either way, TNA is hoping to finalize a deal with Aries and many other stars in time for the September 27th TV tapings.
TNA is currently in the process of overhauling their Soundstage at Universal Studios in Orlando, FL to prepare for the September 27th TV tapings for Spike TV. Many video screens have been added as they continue to work on "upgrading the set" in the Soundstage. Although not confirmed, it is believed that one of the entrance ramps is being removed as well after the company made the switch to just using one. As Bill Banks spoke of in an earlier "Bank Shot" column, a new video intro, graphics and music are being prepared for the Ocotober 1st Spike debut as well.
