WWE.com plugs big rematch for the October 3rd show and then pulls it
On Sunday, September 25, 2005 at 1:54 AM EST A few readers sent word on Saturday night that WWE.com had announced on their website that a 30 Minute Iron Man Match between Kurt Angle and Shawn Michaels would be taking place on the October 3rd edition of WWE RAW when the company returns to the USA Network.
However, that note was pulled a few hours afterwards and instead the page now only plugs that a Piper's Pit segment with Mick Foley as the special guest is the "latest addition" to the show. Already announced for the show is John Cena defending the WWE Championship against Eric Bischoff and Matt Hardy vs. Edge in a "Money in the Bank - Loser Leaves RAW" Ladder Match.
It is possible that a quick decision was made to pull the announcement and instead shoot an angle about it on RAW this coming week in Waco, Texas. Many fans wanted to see a rematch between the two after having being tied storyline wise 1-1 after matches at both WrestleMania 21 and Vengeance. However, to make things even more interesting, TNA had already announced a 30 Minute Iron Man Match between AJ Styles and Christopher Daniels to take place at the Bound for Glory PPV on October 23rd with the X Division Title on the line. That match is actually a rematch from a 30 Minute Iron Man Match both Styles and Daniels had at the Against All Odds PPV in February.
