After a forced two week break due to work and time restraints, In This Very Ring....Is back to brighten up your net browsing day.

This Saturday sees the first event from the latest UK based promotion 1PW. The show, entitled 'A Cruel Twist Of Fate', will be at The Dome in Doncaster(I believe there is a few tickets left)and I will be there. This is the first Indie show that I have ever been to as normally the WWE shows take up all my cash but as this one is so local and with us kind of knowing the guys that are behind the promotion(Those great fellas from 1Up Games who can be found at www.1upgames.co.uk) we just had to go. Oh yeah, and the small matter of one Al Snow wrestling there made things a definite too. So, with tickets bought, JOB Squad tee washed and Ironed(when 'Er Indoors does it)and HEAD at the ready, It's time to take a look at the card and the match ups that are going down.

The nights main event pits TNA regulars Abyss against AJ Styles. The original main event was set to be Abyss Vs Matt Hardy but when Matt re-signed with the WWE 1PW not only had to change a grappler they had to rename the event. The events original name was simply 'Twist Of Fate' as Matt was the first Grappler on board but when Hardy said yes to the WWE the WWE said no to Indie shows. And to be fair, I am kind of glad that they did. I have seen Matt many times in a WWE ring and I have even met the chap(Nice fella)but I have never seen AJ(Or 95% of the other grapplers on the card to be fair) and to say that I am looking forward to seeing the Phenomenal one(No not Rene' Dupree')is an understatement. AJ Styles is one of the premier wrestlers in the Grap game at the moment and is capable of having a Barn Burner with just about anyone. Sticking him in the Ring with Abyss who is one of the best big men workers in recent times should guarantee a first rate match up. A worthy main event on any card.

Taking second billing is Raven Vs Sandman. Not too much of an imagination is needed to guess what sort of match up these two are going to have as an all out arena wide ECW brawl fest is a lock. But as the closest thing I have ever seen to an ECW style brawl in the flesh is a watered down WWE version I am quite looking forward to these two kicking each others Butts all over the Dome. Fingers crossed that I get some blood splattered on me.

Third on the line up is the one I am most looking forwards too. Yup, that's right, it's the Al Snow bout. The Snowman is set to go one on one with the King Of Old School Steve Corino. I have seen Snow wrestle two times in the past, once against Gangrel, once against Bob Holly. Both times Al ended up staring at the lights for the 123. This time I thought, things will be different. Corino is the kind of guy that doesn't mind doing the old J O B and I will get to see Al win finally in probably my last chance ever to see him. Imagine the look on my face as the Corino Vs Snow bout was announced to be for Corino's AWA World Title. Jeeze. As if Al is going to win now. Now, I like Corino and I always thought that he should have been a bigger star in the U.S than he was so I don't mind that it's him that's going to be pinning Al. I don't mind at all. If I say that enough times I may finally convince myself. I don't mind, I don't mind, I don't mind. Yeah right.

Next up is a tag bout featuring Jerry Lynn and Chris Sabin Vs Jonny Storm and Jody Fleish. This looks set to be a classic high flying bout as all four guys can take to the skies and really up the wow factor. I am fully expecting to see some crazy stuff during this bout and I can see myself joining in on the chant of 'HOLY SH*T... HOLY SH*T... HOLY SH*T'.

The bout pitting the Blue Meanie Vs Tracy Smothers is being billed as a grudge match following Smothers being irate at Meanie after Da Blue Guy returned to WWE after the JBL incident. With Meanie showing up on WWE TV, Smothers believes he has been made to look foolish in speaking up against the WWE for his friend. Should be an alright brawl and the highlight of the bout will be the inevitable chant of 'Freddy Joe Floyd...'

Doug Williams Vs Austin Aries promises to be the wrestling bout of the night. As far as I am aware Aries has never wrestled in the UK before and I am sure that he will be eager to give it his all against the U.K's Doug Williams. I have seen Williams quite a few times on TV and I got to say that I love his Bombscare Kneedrop of the top rope and his Chaos Theory rolling German Suplex. As much as I like Paul Burchill and as much as I think that he can be a star in the WWE, I think that if the WWE wanted a guy to fit in to the void left by Davey Boy Smith they need look no further than the 'Anarchist'. From a pure wrestling standpoint this is the bout I am most looking forward to.

Up next we have D'Lo Brown Vs Sterling James Keenan. Now. I got to hold my hand up and say that I have never heard of the American Independent Keenan so I really don't know what to expect from him. But I do know Brown. And I am not down with it. I never really see what people see in D'Lo. To me he was just average at everything he did. And what the Hell is his problem with his neck?! Probably the bout I am least looking forwards to. D'Lo sucks? Your damn right he does.

Another Guy I have never heard of is Iceman. Apparently he is a UK veteran of the ring. Err.. Ok. If you say so. Even though I have never heard of him I really do hope that he wins as his opponent is Low Ki. And man, do I hate Low Ki. I hope the charismaless little midget gets his one dimensional overrated ass handed to him on Saturday night. And purrrrleeeeaaase keep a mic away from him. To all those who say Chris Benoit is Mr. Monotone, check out a (B)Low Ki promo. No wait, don't. I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy or Bob Holly. Well, maybe on Holly.

Last up is a six man tag featuring Ross Jordan, James Tighe and Ice XVII Vs Spud, Stevie Lynn and Shabazz. Jordon, Spud and Tighe I have seen before but the other guys I haven't got a clue. Ross Jordon and James Tighe are pretty cool so I am looking forward to seeing them and Spud.... Well, if you think Spike Dudley(can I still call him that?)is small then you should see this dude. He is tiny! But boy can he take a whooping. And I fully expect him to too! As I said, I never heard of the other guys so I don't really know what to expect. But hell, it can't be any worse than a bout pitting Tiger Ali Singh against Gillberg. Can it?

As you can see it is a card rammed with stars and full to the brim of some of the best talent this side of the WWE and with a special appearance from Tommy Dreamer(Helping Al win the AWA belt I hope!!)the whole show looks to be something special. And with Al Snow on board how can it not be?!

Hopefully, barring a full on disaster, a review of the show should be in a future In This Very Ring....

That's all for now folks.
