Official Broadcast Rating for the first edition of TNA iMPACT! on Spike TV

Saturday's debut edition of TNA: iMPACT! on Spike TV drew a final 0.8 cable rating according to Nielsen Media Research. This is above what WWE Velocity had been drawing in the timeslot (roughly a 0.5), but the rating has to be considered a slight disappointment. Spike TV officials present in Las Vegas last night for the UFC special were said to be hoping and expecting at least a 1.0 out of the TNA show. They were expecting this reportedly out of enthusiasm for the quality of the show TNA produced Saturday night. Even though they were hoping for slightly better, Spike TV officials are saying now it was a great start to build on. Spike TV also had said last week that the key would be not what the first show rating was, but what the show was getting in the ratings in 2 months.

The rating translates to around 850,000 people viewing the show. iMPACT! was pretty consistent throughout the show's quarter hours in what the rating remained at. The highest rated segment of the show was a 0.82 for the end segment involving Jeff Jarrett, Kevin Nash, Team 3D, etc. Among males ages 18-34 and 18-49 the show drew a 0.7. The strongest viewer demographic was for males between the ages of 25-34, the show drew a 0.9. The median age of the viewer watching iMPACT! on Saturday night was 35. This is a little bit of an older median age than for a viewer of WWE Monday Night RAW.
