The Big Mosh & Blade had the honor of welcoming J.J. to the program -- right off the bat, getting down to business. JJ began the interview discussing the WrestleReunion II convention that took place at the end of August in King Of Prussia, PA. Dillon absolutely loved the response that he received at his Q&A session, especially with it being the last scheduled activity before the weekend came to a close. JJ truly feels that nostalgia has played an integral role in making the business successful this year. He appreciates the fact that The Four Horseman have stood the test of time and how fans still have vivid memories of them at various independent shows, legends events, and wrestling conventions.
J.J. talked about getting into the wrestling business -- how he sold programs so he could get into shows, and the other jobs he held in the early days. J.J. brought up how Bruno Sammartino influenced him and paved the way for him in the business. J.J. also went on to discuss working for Vince McMahon Sr. and comparing the "territory days" vs. professional wrestling today, in addition to how television has changed the landscape of wrestling.
J.J. then moved onto the subject of the current General Manager of Monday Night RAW & the former head of World Championship Wrestling, Eric Bischoff. Dillon believes that Eric does not deserve any credit for his success in the business, because he had no idea what he was ever doing --as he never came from a wrestling background. In his opinion, the only reason Eric Bischoff was successful is because Vince McMahon "gave him enough rope to hang himself." J.J. then compared Bischoff & McMahon and what it was like working for both of them, saying the biggest difference was Bischoff spending Ted Turner's money and Vince was spending his own and also developing new & fresh talent. The man himself, Vincent Kennedy McMahon was then talked about in graphic detail -- and JJ was not afraid to shoot on and how he has lost respect for Vince not only professionally, but personally!
Other highlights in this 50+ minute interview include J.J.'s uncensored thoughts on the likelihood of Chris Jericho coming back to the wrestling business before the end of the year, working with Bobby "The Brain" Heenan, the chances of TNA succeeding against the WWE, what "The American Dream" Dusty Rhodes can bring to World Wrestling Entertainment (and how his ego might be his ony downfall), "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair's run as the current WWE Intercontinental Champion, the best ever Horseman faction, and the real stories on what happened the night when The Four Horsemen "reunited" on WCW Nitro in Greenville, SC (including the heated exchange at The TNA Aslyum in Nashville, TN.
