-The Detroit Free Press has an article about WWE and the success of their online showing of half of Smackdown when it was pre-empted by the Hurricane Katrina Fundraiser. WWE said they expected around 250,000 viewers, but got around double that number. WWE Senior Vice President Chris Chambers was impressed with the number because, "That was with no promotion, without people knowing that the show was there." It seems that Mr. Chambers, despite this article being about the success of the internet with their show, has absolutely zero idea about how wrestling information is passed along on the internet outside of the WWE's site. The news of the online showing of hour one of the 9/9 episode of Smackdown was posted everywhere, including twice on this site. The only people who didn't announce anything about it was the WWE. So basically, they're getting all kinds of credit with the great results they got by doing nothing while other people with little or nothing to gain from WWE success do all kinds of advertising for them. Who knows how many view they could've gotten if they had taken the time to advertise it themselves? This may be news to Mr. Chambers, but there are indeed wrestling news sites out there. They don't always just spread rumors people make up at lunch in middle school or think up while watching Star Wars, and no matter how much resentment he or other people in wrestling may or may not have for these sites, this is a great example of how those sites can do all kinds of good for the people who are generally very anti-internet wrestling news sites.

-John Cena conducted an interview with Corpus Christi TV about last night's RAW. It's very basic, and pretty much an in-character interview. It can be found here.

-The Daytona Beach News-Journal has an article about "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan. Duggan was practicing driving a bus for a charity race and rolled the bus. Duggan was not injured. The full article can be found here.
