A new "Bank Shot" column by Bill Banks has been added on TNA's website this week. Here are some news and notes:
- Bill Banks notes that the "butterflies were gone" during the second round of TNA iMPACT! tapings this past Tuesday night in Orlando, FL at Universal Studios. He adds that many wrestlers were extremely jet-lagged from a tour of Australia that included Jeff Jarrett, Rhino, AJ Styles, Christopher Daniels and Samoa Joe.
- Banks noted that following the taping of the Team 3D "burial segment" that aired last night on Spike TV, James Mitchell took it upon himself to get a photo of him lying down in one of the caskets to add to his "collection" of photos. He also added, "Eric Young, on the other hand, wasn’t sticking around after the shoot – he’s still convinced the place was haunted by a ghost named “Katie” who apparently isn’t very fond of wrestlers."
- The strong relationship between TNA and Spike TV is mentioned and how many executives were happy with TNA improving on its audience in the second week ratings wise and in key demographics as well.
- Despite earlier reports stating that Jushin "Thunder" Liger would also be at the iMPACT! tapings following Bound for Glory on October 25, it appears Liger will be unable to appear at the tapings due to prior commitments. TNA is said to be still waiting on word from New Japan Pro Wrestling if Liger will still be able to make the tapings. It is also mentioned that TNA and New Japan are working on bringing TNA talent to an upcoming show at the Tokyo Dome along with future trades between both companies.
- Banks notes that Samoa Joe might be working on something "extra special" for his entrance at the Bound for Glory PPV on October 23rd in his match against Jushin "Thunder" Liger.
- The upcoming DVD release "The Best of The Fallen Angel Christopher Daniels" is said to be coming together quite well. Both Banks and Daniels have been heavily involved with the making of the DVD, including changing the line-up of matches appearing on it. On-camera "standups" were also shot for the DVD at the iMPACT! tapings this past Tuesday. They are also working on adding some older bonus matches that dates back to some of Daniels' matches in 1994 for Windy City Wrestling.
- There are plans within TNA to start streaming live Pay Per View events to international fans starting in early 2006.
- In response to WWE's announcement of the new "Junior's Division" this weekend, Banks added, "There is absolutely no truth to the rumor that TNA is starting a new division featuring hobbits and/or ewoks..."
- Some new backstage photos from recent iMPACT! tapings in October have been added. To check them out, click here.
