Lesnar vs. WWE conference on 12/15, RAW announce spot, Mick Foley
On Wednesday, October 19, 2005 at 7:38 PM EST A settlement court conference between Brock Lesnar and World Wrestling Entertainment is scheduled for Thursday, December 15th at 10:00 a.m. in Bridgeport, CT. Many are expecting the situation between both parties to be settled following the conference. Probably the most interesting aspect of the conference will involve Lesnar's recent involvement with New Japan Pro Wrestling and how the company is intent on using footage of Lesnar's participation for In Demand PPV in the United States. For those who remember, Lesnar's settlement agreement with WWE that he signed back in 2004 prohibits him from appearing in the United States for another pro wrestling company in the United States either live or broadcasted on TV or Pay Per View.
There was said to be some serious talk within WWE about moving Michael Cole into the open RAW announcer's slot this week with Jim Ross' removal taking place last week. It doesn't appear that will be taking place after all as the company is still actively seeking an outside name to be brought in to fill the slot. Many expect Ross to be given hosting duties for the WWE.com Unlimited Webcast when he is healthy enough to return. Some feel he could even be thrown back on RAW, but it does look like WWE management is standing their ground on his removal despite negative feedback about the decision. As noted before, Ross' current deal with WWE expires in under a year.
