More on Kane back injury from Raw, update on Edge injury, Matt Hardy
On Sunday, October 30, 2005 at 4:15 PM EST As we reported on Saturday, Kane suffered a serious back injury at RAW this past Monday night and it is believed that he has a broken vertebrae in his back. His status for Taboo Tuesday is now up in the air given the injury. As hyped for the last two weeks or so, Kane is scheduled to take part in a poll involving Shawn Michaels and Big Show to determine who will take part in the Main Event for the WWE Championship along with John Cena and Kurt Angle. The two that get the lowest votes will then take on the current World Tag Team Champions Lance Cade & Trevor Murdoch. It should also be noted that current OVW talent Freakin Deacon was slated to be called up to the RAW brand to work a program with Kane in the next few weeks, but plans for that have been put on hold due to the seriousness of this injury.
There still remains no word on the partial pec tear Edge suffered recently. The injury will require surgery and he has been put out of action for now. His status for Taboo Tuesday is also unknown at this time. Edge is slated to team with Chris Masters in a RAW vs. SmackDown tag team match where fans can vote for JBL, Rey Mysterio, Matt Hardy, Christian or Hardcore Holly as the opponents that will face Edge and Masters. Many feel he may just gut out the PPV this Tuesday and then get the surgery soon afterwards. We hope to have more on his situation very soon.
The Miami Herald has an interview up with Matt Hardy discussing the upcoming Taboo Tuesday PPV and how the company is using the internet to get fans involved. He did make one interesting comment about internet fans, adding, "If you look at the people on the Internet, don't get me wrong, I like the Internet fans because they are very passionate, but they are also very hypocritical. As soon as they say they want something and whenever they get it, they say, `Well, we really didn't want that because of so and so.' A lot of the people in the Internet wrestling community, the diehard wrestling fans, will be the first to do that. It's hard to make them happy." To read the full article, click here.
