The Big Mosh opened the interview with another introduction that only he is famous for, which Honky praises. Both Mosh & Hero plug "the most controversial site in professional wrestling," www.thehonkytonkman.com. The Big Mosh then asked The Honky Tonk Man about one of his commentaries on his site, regarding the Jim Ross firing, which Honky answered by saying that he's on Vince McMahon's side of the story -- and how Jim Ross followed along with it instead of just leaving without a storyline.
Honky Tonk Man then turned sides from a story about Kevin Nash to the recent TNA events, including Kevin Nash going into the hospital (HTM's comments about Nash are pretty interesting & controversial to say the least, making this interview a must-listen). The Big Mosh then asked about Jeff Jarrett "stealing" The Honky Tonk Man's gimmick with the guitar shots, in which Honky responded by saying Jeff "runs the company and can't think of a new gimmick." That then turned into WWE Homecoming talk, in which The Honky Tonk Man referred to a "crock of shit," also mentioning a 17-page contract he received to come back to World Wrestling Entertainment, which he confirms he won't -- unless the contract changes for the better. The Honky Tonk Man then went into discussion about royalties that him & other "legends" thought they would receive from wrestling, in which the WWE didn't have a proper accounting process for.
The Angry Hero then asked about the "Self Destruction Of The Ultimate Warrior" DVD, and if HTM thinks they will make one about him & his career. Honky has no doubt that they will make one, and bury him the same way they buried The Ultimate Warrior one. Honky also said he will probably only get $5,000 for his DVD, while Bret will get $50,000, when it's the same type of DVD. The Big Mosh then asked about another legend with a DVD coming out next Tuesday, Jake "The Snake" Roberts. Honky mentioned that he sold all of his wrestling gear to get away from his demons, and is wanted in Ohio & the United Kingdom. He mentioned that the DVD & legends contract is just to cover for his hip replacement surgery. The Honky Tonk Man then mentioned "The Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase and just how ironic it is for Ted to be working in the WWE now, when he was preaching in churches years ago, telling people not to watch wrestling. The Honky Tonk Man then discussed Randy Orton's Legend Killer Tour," and how it wasn't worth his time to lose in three minutes for $500, when he makes that selling pictures at wrestling shows on the weekend.
The Angry Hero then mentioned the title belt prestige in professional wrestling & sports-entertainment today, and how it has fallen greatly to the point where they mean nothing anymore. From belts being thrown into rivers (WWE Intercontinental Championship), to women winning by kicking men in the grapefruits, to a different set of tag team champions every month, it's quite visible that the title prestige have fallen. The Big Mosh took the title prestige, forwarding it into when Honky Tonk Man won the WWE Intercontinental Title at The Aud in Buffalo, NY, the hometown of The Mayhem. Honky mentioned that Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat truly didn't the way his match against l"The Macho Man" Randy Savage at WrestleMania III was laid out, then years later now, he says losing to The Honky Tonk Man was "shit." If you thought his comments regarding nash were controversial, wait until you hear Honky shoot on Steamboat! Honky then talked about other guys he wrestled for years that he had to lose to for years before people complained when he beat them -- such as Bret "Hitman" Hart, Koko B Ware, Tito Santana, Pedro Morales, and Tony Garea -- who Honky says was the worst he was ever in the ring with, among several others.
The Honky Tonk Man then talked about how he can do anything now, and still get away with it without worrying about drug testing. Honky also put over his RF Shoot DVD/Video, the recent DVD put out by RFVideo.com. Honky's opinion is that "it's better than The Osbournes & Hogan Knows Best."
Speaking of "The Immortal One," The Big Mosh then asked if Honky would ever accept going into the WWE Hall Of Fame, which Honky says "Absolutely not." Honky then sayid that "Superstar" Billy Graham sold out to it, but that he had to, simply to get the extra money. Honky said it's all about kissing Vince McMahon's ass. HTM then went on to talk about the infamous "Kiss My Ass" Club moments on WWE television, including Jim Ross & William Regal. He also brought up about how he would love to see "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair's "big nose in McMahon's crack."
The Honky Tonk Man then went into how he helped another former WWE Intercontinental Champion, "The Ninth Wonder of The World," Chyna, & her career -- by giving her sound advice and by not letting her go down to Memphis by Jerry "The King" Lawler's request. Honky said that Lawler wanted to pay Chyna $400 a week to do "some shots" down in Memphis, in which he said that she shouldn't go down there unless she got $750 a week, which Lawler refused to pay.
Honky & The Big Mosh then talked more about HTM's cousin, Jerry "The King" Lawler, including his announcing abilities being "puppies" every other word, and stories about his previous girlfriends, including Stacy "The Kat" Carter. Honky then mentioned Lawler's current girlfriend getting free airfare & anything else she desires to any indy show Lawler appears at as well. Honky also believes that "The King's" comments at last year's WWE Taboo Tuesday PPV during the "Fulfill Your Fantasy" Divas Match ("JR, I wish I could be back in high school/grammar school.") are pretty much true to life.
The Big Mosh also brought up Honky's former Rhythm & Blues tag team partner, Greg "The Hammer" Valentine, recently wrestling on WWE.com's Heat program -- to which HTM gave his candid takes on -- and also continued his story from earlier in the interview -- about all of Ted DiBiase's "disciples" returning to the WWE in some capacity, including Road Warrior Animal.
This fantastic 45-minute interview also features The Honky Tonk Man going to town on such subjects as Rob Conway being the WWE's newest "legend killer," "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan, why Harley Race was the best worker he has ever been in the ring with, and plenty more!
