On Thursday, December 29, 2005 at 4:07 PM EST WWE RAW Brand House Show Results - 12/28/05
Location: Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
Kenny sent in the following report:
Ben Rothelsburger and a few other Pittsburgh Steelers were sitting at Ring Side and often got to go back stage.
Chavo Guerrero vs Rob Conway
There were plenty of Eddie chants during the match. It was pretty much a back and forth struggle until Chavo hit a running Tornado DDT followed by Eddie's Frog Splash for the victory.
Winner: Chavo Guerrero via pinfall.
Ken Doane of "The Spirit Squad" vs Val Venis
Ken Doane and his partner, who played the role of manager, were absolutely hilarious. They lead the crowd in some "cheers" to bring some spirit back to Pittsburgh after the Steeler's recent loss. During the match the other member of the Spirit Squad blew an air horn almost every time Ken hit a move on Val. The match ended when Val went up for a money shot, but Ken's partner kept blowing his air horn in Val's face. Ken rolled up a distracted Val for the victory.
Winner: Ken Doane via pinfall.
Women's Championship: Trish Stratus (c) vs Victoria
Trish gave Ben Rothelsburger a hug before the match began. Victoria went down, but instead of hugging her Ben stood up and blew a kiss to Trish. Victoria jumped Trish from behind and grabbed the title belt. Trish ducked and nailed "the Chick Kick" for the quick victory.
Winner: Trish Stratus via pinfall.
The Miz and Chris Cage vs Gene Snitsky and Tyson Tomko
The mismatch was obvious from the start. Miz and cage made a pretty interesting team, but they were no match for Snitsky and Tomko. Miz and Cage had a few spirts of impressive offense but were put to a sudden stop by one of the most vicious Tyson Tomko big boots I've ever seen.
Winners: Snitsky and Tomko via pinfall.
Trevor Murdoch vs Viscera
Murdoch started off on the mic by telling the crowd that ever since he came to the stink hole of Pittsburgh he's been judged by being called inbred and fat boy. He asked the people in the back to send out the biggest superstar they could find. Suddenly, Viscera's music played. It happened so fast it was almost as if they planned it or something! The highlights of the match were Vis giving Murdoch a wedgie, followed by a spanking, then a dry humping. The match ended when Vis missed what looked to be an elbow drop, as Murdoch rolled on to the ring apron, slid over the 2nd rope, and kept his feet on the rope for the victory.
Winner: Trevor Murdoch via pinfall.
The Coach and Carlito vs Shelton Benjamin and Tatanka
The Coach came to the ring with an afro and a Carlito shirt on. Carlito acted flattered as the crowd was pretty entertained. Shelton Benjamin then came out and the announcer announced that a former WWE superstar would be making his return tonight. Tatanka came out and the match got started. Shelton and Tatanka dominated until Carlito hit a wicked backbreaker move on Tatanka from behind. Tatanka regained the advantage, made the tag, hit Carlito with the "End of the Trail" Somoan Drop and Shelton finished off the Coach with a T-Bone suplex.
Winners via Pinfall: Shelton Benjamin and Tatanka
Chris Masters vs Kane
At this point the crowd was really starting to get into it. The match went back and forth with both superstars attempting their finishing moves several times. Masters nearly locked in the Masterlock only to get rammed into the corner. Kane attempted the Masterlock as well only to have it countered. The finish saw Masters get caught with a choke slam after rebounding off of the ropes.
Winner via Pinfall: Kane
Intercontinental Championship: Ric Flair (c) vs Triple H
Triple H started on the microphone and had the crowd pretty into it. He insulted Flair and told him his time was up. Flair came back, sucked up to Rothelsburger, and brought up the fact that it doesn't matter if he's 10 or 100, he has gold and Triple H does not. He then threatened to shove "that sledge hammer" in a certain orphace of Triple H's body to start the match. Triple H dominated early and locked in the Figure 4. Ric Flair fought back and locked in his signature figure 4. During the hold he continually flipped Triple H the bird much to the crowds enjoyment. The match ended when Triple H tried to bring a chair into the ring. The ref grabbed the chair and Triple H threw him outside. Ric Flair took the opportunity to nail Triple H with 3 solid low blows. Ric threw Triple H to the ropes, ducked his head, and got caught with the Pedigree. The ref came to his senses, but instead of counting he disqualified Triple H for throwing him out of the ring.
Winner by DQ: Ric Flair
There was a quick intermission while the crew assembled a Steel Cage.
WWE Championship / Steel Cage Match: John Cena (c) vs Kurt Angle
Special Ref: Shawn Daivari
Angle did manage to get some cheers in his home town of Pittsburgh. He dominated the match early on and from the looks of things busted Cena open. Cena fought back until Daivari distracted the ref which allowed Angle to nail a low blow. Cena was once again dominated, but managed to make another come back. He hit the 5-Knuckle Shuffle for a 2 count. He went for the F-U, but it was countered into an Angle Slam. Angle got a 2 count. The match went back and forth. The ref was knocked out and soon after Cena hit the F-U. He went for the cover, but there was no ref. Oh no! So he went to escape the cage. At that moment just about everyone in the arena pretended they didn't know Daivari was going to slam the cage door on Cena's head. Daivari slammed the cage door on Cena's head. The crowd was VERY into it. Daivari comes into the ring, and then Cena nails both him and Angle with a double clothesline. Cena goes to climb over the cage, but gets caught with an Angle slam from the top rope. Angle covers, and gets a 2 count. Angle then locks on the Ankle Lock, but Cena flips through it slamming Angle into Daivari. Cena then hits the F-U for the 3 count.
Winner via Pinfall: John Cena
