SmackDown Tapings Results from Orlando, FL (Air Date: Feb. 3)
On Tuesday, January 31, 2006 at 2:11 AM EST SmackDown was taped on Monday because the roster is flying to Japan and Thailand for house shows this week. SmackDown will still air on Friday in the U.S. at its usual time slot and on Thursday in Canada.
WWE SmackDown Tapings:
- Opening segment saw Teddy Long announcing that Kurt Angle would be defending his title against the Undertaker at No Way Out. Long calls out the Royal Rumble winner. Rey Mysterio came out and starts talking about Eddie Guerrero. Randy Orton made his way to the ring and challenged Rey at No Way Out for his #1 contendership. Randy started saying negative things about Eddie, which caused a them to go at it.
- The Mexicools vs. MNM. The match ended with Melina hitting Super Crazy with her shoe.
- Booker T told Long that he couldn't fight Benoit for the U.S. title since he was injured. Long told him to find a replacement.
- Bobby Lashley defeated The Dicks. After the match, JBL attacked Lashley.
- The Undertaker cut a promo with Kurt Angle. It was basically a hype up for their match at No Way Out.
- Chris Benoit defeated Fit Finlay by disqualification. Finlay was Booker's substitute. After the match, they teamed up on Benoit.
- Gregory Helms will be defending his WWE Cruiserweight Championship against Nunzio next week on SmackDown.
- Booker T, Shamell and Boogeyman segment was shown from the backstage area.
- Mark Henry & Randy Orton defeated Kurt Angle & Rey Mysterio (Rey will be putting up his WrestleMania title shot on the line against Randy Orton at No Way Out.)
