Alan J. Wojcik of alanwojcik.com sent in the following report:

These are detailed notes for TNA Impact shows to air on April 1st and April 8th. The next taping will be Monday April 10th and Impact will move to Thursday night’s at 11pm as part of a “Full Combat" programming block.

Hopefully we will see the next installment of Alex Shelley and James Mitchell’s visit to NWA World Heavyweight champion Christian Cage’s wife. In studio Sting will talk about his plan for Lockdown and possibly announce his team. In an attempt to get the crowd to cheer loud Dave Penzer talked up the recent Detroit live event’s crowd noise. $o Cal Val got a bigger reaction then Penzer when the fans were told today Val turns 20. It was nice to see Kevin Devine as well as ladies wrestling star Lexie Fyfe in attendance. However Austin Aries, Monty Brown, Lance Hoyt, “Maverick" Matt Bentley, Traci Brooks and Andy Douglas were not used on either broadcast.

TNA iMPACT! Tapings for April 1:

Scott D’amore along with Team Canada members “Canadian Enforcer" Bobby Roode and “Showtime" Eric Young made their way to the ring. Young was still wearing a bandage on his forehead from the cage match with Team 3D. The fans booed as Team Canada sang the Canadian anthem, but Team 3D came through the crowd with two “3D Nation" flags and then jumped the Canadians. After fighting around ringside the action came back to the ring where the Canadians were laid on 3D style. Petey Williams and A1 came out to aid Roode and Young. Team 3D were once again laid out in the ring. After putting Devon through a table, D’amore took the house mic telling the fans Team 3D was once again under the maple leaf’s domination.

Jeremy Borash spoke to Jeff Jarrett, Gail Kim, Scott Steiner and America’s Most Wanted about the Lethal Lockdown match at the PPV.

(1) NWA World Tag Team champions America’s Most Wanted (“Tennessee Cowboy" James Storm & “Wildcat" Chris Harris w/Gail Kim) defeated The James Gang (Kip and BG James).

This is a dream match of sorts between one the best WWE tag teams and the most dominant NWA World champs in decades. Before the match Storm and Harris spilled some beer on Gayda when she took their ring gear. AMW got control thanks to Kim tripping BG James and he walked into a Storm superkick. Somehow BG tagged in Kip as Gayda and Kim got into a slapfest on the floor. Kip hit Harris with the Famouser but Storm stopped the count when he tried to hit Kip with the beer bottle. As Rudy Charles dealt with Storm, Konnan and his sock puppet entered the ring and hit Kip in the head. Harris covered Kip to retain the titles. Bob Armstrong and BG made it to the ring too late as the damage was already done.

Jeremy Borash entered the ring for an interview with Abyss and Father James Mitchell. They spoke about the Alex Shelley/Paparazzi Production film and NWA World Heavyweight champion “Captain Charisma" Christian Cage. Mitchell brought up Cage’s trip to Toronto to film a movie instead of defending the championship or his wife’s honor. Mitchell said the public humiliation would continue. We were shown the next video installment which you need to see on TV. Shelley stalked the house and Cage came out with the garbage, he spotted Shelley. Cage went to attack Alex Shelley but Abyss jumped him. They fought into the kitchen, living room and then into the swimming pool where Abyss tried to drown Cage. Mitchell called off Abyss before anything horrible happened. Don West briefly left the broadcast table in disgust over the video.

Before the following match NWA World X Division champion “Fallen Angel" Christopher Daniels joined Mike Tenay and Don West for commentary.

(2) In a match to determine the next person to receive an NWA World X Division title shot, Samoa Joe defeated Alex Shelley (w/Paparazzi Cam), “the Future" Chris Sabin and Sonjay Dutt.

These fans got a PPV quality match for free. Before the match Joe refused to take his eyes off Daniels and the title belt. Shelley and Dutt began with a mini wrestling clinic until Shelley got Dutt in his package. Sabin and Joe tagged in and the hard hitting moves began. Dutt tagged in and hit Joe with a huricurana but Joe fired back with his normal stiff kicks to the upper body. Shelley tagged himself in and Joe tossed him to Dutt who got a two count. Shelley fired back with a back suplex for two. Dutt hit Shelley with two dropkicks to the face before Sabin tagged himself in, then he hit Shelley with two dropkicks to the back of the neck. Shelley fought back with dropkicks of his own. All four men hit dropkicks but Joe tossed Sabin to the floor and hit Dutt with the Musclebuster to win the match and then begin a brawl with Daniels around the broadcast table.

Jeremy Borash tried to talk to AMW, Scott Steiner and Jeff Jarrett but they told him they were going to the ring to call out Sting. After the commercial AMW, Steiner and Jarrett entered the ring to a resounding chorus of boos. Jarrett said they were tired of waiting for Sting to show his face. Instead of Sting, Chase Stevens, Shark Boy, Norman Smiley, Ron Killing, Rhino and the James Gang appeared in the crowd telling Jarrett they had enough of his group. Above the entryway sat AJ Styles and Team NWA/USA. The lights went down and up, when they came up STING was in the ring. As he laid out Jarrett and friends Team Canada hit the ring to try and provide aid. Sting was saved by everyone who spoke on the mics.

TNA iMPACT! Tapings for April 8:

(1) The match between Abyss (w/Father James Mitchell) ended “Phenomenal" AJ Styles with no announced winner.

Having feuded over the near four year history of TNA, someone was going to have to commit a huge tactical error to lose the match. Styles kicked Abyss several times trying to knot up his left hamstring. He followed it with a dropkick and a huricurana. Abyss went to the floor and Styles went to follow but Abyss was ready. He got on the ring apron and caught Styles, threatening to press slam him to the crowd, instead Styles landed in the ring. After some chest chops, Abyss locked Styles in a neckvise. Styles escaped but Abyss press slammed him and then dropped him chest first to the mat. Mitchell signaled for Doomsday and Abyss went on the attack. Styles countered out the black Hole Slam and hit an enziguri and another huricurana. Styles used a slingshot move to get a two count but Abyss escaped the Styles Clash and hit Shock Treatment for two. Abyss climbed up but missed a second rope splash. Styles hit the Pele’ floatover kick but his attempt at Spiral Tap was stopped by Mitchell, who tripped Styles with his walking stick. Abyss got his thumbtack satchel from under the ring and sent Slick Mark Johnson running. Christian Cage hit the ring and Abyss with a tire iron. Abyss and Cage brawled around near the backstage area.

After running Abyss to the locker room, Cage hit the ring and answered James Mitchell’s challenge, accepting the match with Abyss at Lockdown. Cage asked Abyss if he was ready to die, because he was.

(2) In an arm wrestling contest, Konnan (w/“Notorious 187" Homicide) fought “Bullet" Bob Armstrong (w/the James Gang) with no announced winner.

Before the contest Rudy Charles tossed the James Gang, Homicide and the sock puppet from ringside. Let’s just say the contest was interesting. Konnan locked up and quickly walked away twice. The third time they locked up and were pretty much even. That was until Hotstuff Hernandez hit the ring and then hit Armstrong with the sock puppet.

Jeremy Borash spoke to Larry Zbyszko about the Lockdown PPV and the upcoming World X Cup tournament. Larry told the fans Jushin “Thunder" Liger would face Christopher Daniels at Lockdown. Slick Johnson addressed Larry about a “new guy" TNA management was bringing in. Before the next match Mike Tenay and Don West spoke with Simon Diamond about the recent Sports Illustrated issue that featured the “BaseBrawl" incident at White Sox training camp.

(3) The Diamonds in the Rough members David Young and “Primetime" Elix Skipper vs. Shark Boy and “Big Wiggle" Norman Smiley never happened as Jeff Jarrett, Scott Steiner and AMW hit the ring and laid out Smiley and Shark Boy. Steiner kept calling for Sting but Sting never appeared. Shark Boy was taken to the locker room by EMT’s.

(4) In a match to determine the final slot on Team TNA/USA, Alex Shelley (w/Paparazzi Cam) defeated “Messiah of the Backbreaker" Roderick Strong (welcome back to TNA) and Chase Stevens of the Naturals.

Strong and Shelley worked as a unit for a few minutes attacking the multi-time NWA World Tag Team champion. Stevens avoided defeated several times despite several Strong backbreakers and tried to separate the X division stars. Steven failed when Strong locked him in a Boston crab but Shelley got the last move of the match when he hit Strong with Sliced Bread #2.

Once back from the commercial Tenay and West spoke to the home audience when Sting made his way into the Impact Zone. Sting told the fans he came back to wrestling because of his love of the business, the fans and Spike TV. Sting said his departure at Final Resolution was tainted by Jeff Jarrett and Alex Shelley. Sting said he returned to get rid of the bitterness Jarrett and friends placed in his mouth. Sting said he was one-upped by Scott Steiner’s arrival in TNA. Sting said he was ready to one-up Jarrett with his “Lethal Lockdown" match at the PPV. Sting said he was going to wait until April 13th to announce the members of his team. He also challenged Jarrett to a match at the same TV show. This brought out Jeff Jarrett, Scott Steiner and AMW. But they were met by AJ Styles, Christopher Daniels, the James Gang, Sonjay Dutt, Jay Lethal, Chris Sabin, Chase Stevens Ron Killings and Rhino. To no one’s surprise Jarrett and friends left the ringside area. Sting asked the fans who should be on the team and several people chanted Goldberg.

The following matches were taped for Xplosion:

(1) Team Canada members Petey Williams and “Canadian Enforcer" Bobby Roode (w/Scott D’amore doing commentary) defeated Jay Lethal and Cassidy Riley when Roode hit Riley with the Northern Lights lariat.

(2) Shark Boy and Chase Stevens of the Naturals defeated Diamonds in the Rough members David Young and “Primetime" Elix Skipper (w/Simon Diamond) when Shark hit both of his opponents with his version of the slop drop.
