WWE Velocity Tapings (For WWE.com Webcast):

- Chris Benoit defeated Vito.

- Matt Hardy defeated unknown wrestler.

- "Pirate" Paul Burchill defeated Nunzio.

- Orlando Jordan defeated Scotty 2 Hotty.

WWE Friday Night SmackDown Tapings:

- WWE United States Champion JBL comes out to the ring wearing a jacket with the USA flag on it. JBL rips on the British crowd saying they couldn't win a war without the United States. William Regal comes out and runs down the US. This leads into...

- JBL defeated William Regal to retain the WWE United States Title.

- Backstage, Kristal interviews Booker T and Sharmell. Booker is asked who he thinks will win the World Title Match tonight between Rey Mysterio and Kurt Angle. Booker said he didn't care because he was going to become the next King of the Ring. Gunner Scott then shows up and reminds Booker T of how he beat him a few weeks ago. Booker said he would take Scott on at anytime...but wouldn't tonight since he had a cough. Booker said he will find Scott an opponent for tonight.

- Paul London, Brian Kendrick & Super Crazy defeated WWE Tag Team Champions MNM & WWE Cruiserweight Champion Gregory Helms.

- Backstage, Melina says she can't believe Nitro and Mercury would lose to London and Kendrick four times in a row. She leaves to go freshen up when she runs into Jillian Hall, taking her mirror away. Melina says she is sorry for Jillian losing her job and offers her a new one, putting on Melina's makeup. Both get into a catfight.

- Backstage, Kristal interviews World Heavyweight Champion Rey Mysterio. He talks about how he was on top of the world right now and said that if Angle beats him tonight, he wanted to take the time to thank everyone for support.

- A shot of Bobby Lashley backstage warming up is shown.

- Bobby Lashley defeated Mark Henry via countout in a First Round Match of the King of the Ring Tournament. Lashley advances in the KOTR Tournament.

- Booker T comes out and introduces Gunner Scott's opponent tonight...Finlay. This goes into Finlay defeating Gunner Scott. Booker T did commentary for the match. Booker interfered to set up the win for Finlay. After the match, Booker and Finlay beat down Scott when Chris Benoit hit the ring for the save.

- A segment with Kristal coming to the ring and introducing Daivari and The Great Khali took place. Daivari spoke about how they have destroyed The Undertaker, taken his spirit and how is afraid of Khali. Khali attempted to speak on the mic yet again and he was still hard to understand.

- Rey Mysterio vs. Kurt Angle for the World Heavyweight Title ended in a No Contest. After Mysterio hit the 619 and attempted the West Coast Pop, Mark Henry hit the ring and attacked both Angle and Mysterio. The segment finished with Henry splashing Angle through a table on the outside of the ring.
