Maryland Championship Wrestling issued a press release today noting that former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Batista would be making a rare independent appearance for the promotion on May 7.

THE ANIMAL WILL BE UNLEASHED AT MCW XTREME MEASURES!
Maryland Championship Wrestling has announced that former WWE World Heavyweight Champion and current SmackDown superstar, BATISTA, will be at MCW XTREME MEASURES, Next Sunday, May 7th in Baltimore, Maryland.

The former bouncer made his debut in World Wrestling Entertainment in May 2002, as an enforcer for "Reverend D-Von" (formerly The Dudley Boyz' D-Von Dudley, currently Team 3D's Brother Devon, who wrestled at the last MCW event, teaming with Brother Ray in defeating Bruiser & Genesis last Sunday). Batista won his first championship, the WWE World Tag Team Championship, with Ric Flair, defeating, ironically, The Dudley Boyz, in December 2003.

In January 2005, Batista won the Royal Rumble, which led to his first World Championship, via a victory over Triple H at WrestleMania 21. While holding the World Title, he teamed with current World Champion, Rey Mysterio, to win the WWE Tag Team Championship in December 2005.

After dealing with a right triceps injury, Batista made his return appearance in Baltimore, at the WWE No Way Out PPV, this past February. Now, Batista returns to Baltimore, and will appear next Sunday, May 7th, at the MCW Arena in Dundalk, Maryland (just outside of Baltimore City) for MCW XTREME MEASURES!

They always say that "good friends make better enemies." Those words ring true here, as DDP will battle his former best friend, Kanyon. Page has held many titles throughout his 20-year career, including the WCW World Heavyweight, WCW United States, WCW Television, WCW World Tag Team, WWE European, and WWE World Tag Team Championships. Kanyon is no stranger to titles either, having won the WCW World Tag Team & United States Titles, as well as the WWE World Tag Team Title, when he & DDP defeated APA in 2001. Can "The Innovator of Offense" come up with the right moves to defeat the experienced former World Champion? We will find out at Xtreme Measures next Sunday night.

MCW HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH
JULIO DINERO VS. GENESIS
The new MCW Champion successfully defended his title in a great match with Josh Daniels, last Sunday at GUERRILLA WARFARE. Now, commissioner Tara had announced that the champ will defend the title against GENESIS, the man who, along with BRUISER, went toe-to-toe with TEAM 3D, last Sunday night. This match is the rematch from the finals of the MCW Heavyweight Championship Tournament earlier this year.

THE RUNT VS. THE BEAST
BROTHER RUNT (aka Spike Dudley) VS. BRUISER
The "Giant Killer" comes to MCW next Sunday, to battle MCW's giant, the 300+ pound, former 5-time MCW Champion BRUISER. Bruiser wants revenge, after losing to TEAM 3D last Sunday at GUERRILLA WARFARE. Bruiser is looking to get some revenge by defeating the "Runt" of the Clan. Can Spike slay another giant, or will the Bruiser get his revenge?

CHRIS SABIN CHALLENGES THE CHAMPION
After witnessing current MCW Cruiserweight Champion DEREK FRAZIER accept the challenges of Qenaan Creed & Andrew Ryker, and successfully defend the title against both of them last Sunday, Chris Sabin has issued a challenge to Frazier for a championship match next Sunday at XTREME MEASURES. Unavailable for comment prior to this press release, we hope to have a response from the champion later this week.

GIMMICK MATCH CHALLENGE CONTINUES
The Holy Rollers, with the assistance of The Trojan Twins, stole the first victory in a Lumberjack Match over The Slackers. Now, Match #2 of the challenge. And this time, The Slackers will select the stipulation. Chad & Dino plan to make the announcement this Friday.
