As reported on yesterday, programming for the new ECW brand will be taking the spot of Velocity and will be taped prior to SmackDown every Tuesday as of now.

There is no official date of when this will go into effect, but many expect it to start in June heading into June 7 ECW special on the USA Network and the second ECW One Night Stand PPV on June 11. The show will be one hour and will air on the official ECW website (ECW.com). It is possible it will air on WWE.com as well. It should be noted that there are still efforts to get the new ECW show a timeslot in the United States with the USA Network being the likely candidate.

The new ECW show will also be replacing Velocity in international markets where the show still airs. This new ECW project is basically being worked on every day and this is why new information becomes available each day. According to some new reports, Vince McMahon is not budging on possibly adding a third day of tapings for the new ECW as he feels two days a week is enough as is. One interesting aspect about the new brand is that McMahon is said to be very open about bringing in wrestlers he knows little to nothing about. The official "launch" of the new brand will be on June 7 with the "WWE vs. ECW Head to Head" TV taping for the USA Network that will include wrestlers from RAW, SmackDown and ECW.
