Pro's from the Palace (#102) - Angry Palace Dweller fires venom @ WWE

Ok, I am in one foul mood, so this is the best way to release some of that anger, and that's to rip in to some of the C-R-A-P I saw tonight on Smackdown. And don't give me the BS emails about why I shouldn't watch WWE anymore, because quite frankly, I'm sick of it. I watch WWE in respect of the talents that put their lives on the line day in day out, the WRESTLERS, thank you Joey Styles, with talents such as Chris Benoit, who is the subject of my first tirade.

Anyone with half a pulse can probably guess Chris Benoit needs a break from WWE. He has been going non stop since Wrestlemania 20 that I can recall, wrestling mid main events to main event matches week in week out. Now, I understand the need to "write" Benoit out of the script of Smackdown, in order to keep some continuity to the show, but do we need to force feed another hall of fame superstar to the savage that is Mark "I can't wrestle but I can squash talent like bugs" Henry?

Now, someone explain something to me. Henry comes back, squashes Batista like a bug, Batista relinquishes the World title, and Henry is rewarded with a title shot? Ok. I don't get that one. Henry loses the title shot by an eyelash to Kurt Angle, squashes him like a bug, takes him out of what almost certainly would've been a 2nd King of the Ring title, and then he continues to get paid by WWE well past the end of his ten year contract, while talents like Benoit are still out there waiting for their chance to sign on the dotted line for the money that they are RIGHTFULLY OWED due to the money they poured in to the company with their blood, sweat, and tears.

And now, Henry is going to be "credited" with the demise of Chris Benoit. How much longer before this oaf is wearing gold around his waist? As happy as I am to see Bobby Lashley winning the US title tonight, I cannot believe it's going to be for too long, because this UNBELIEVABLE PUSH they're giving this TALENTLESS WASTE OF OXYGEN is going to culminate in a championship. I am so proud of my US title replica sitting on my showcase table here at the Palace, but as God as my witness, I may be forced to ebay that sucker when Mark Henry is crowned the next US champion, because the writing is on the wall, people, and this could not make me any sicker.

Ok. Now on to my second rant. Booker Freakin' T. Big deal, Booker wins a second rate King of the Ring tournament that isn't even CULMINATED on A PAY PER VIEW NAMED FOR THE TOURNAMENT! The King of the Ring is crowned at JUDGMENT DAY? How stupid is this, ladies and gentlemen? Any of those WWE traditionalists like me that would want to turn around and call this so called tournament the biggest farce since, well, since the last big farce to come down the pike in WWE, which seems to be almost every damn week.

Ok, ok, ok, let me get back to the point here. How MORONIC was the damn coronation ceremony?!?!?! William Regal, if we hear you say, 'LONG LIVE KING BOOKER' one more time, I swear by the belts on my table I am going to find my way to a WWE ring, grab a microphone, and shove it down your throat. Sharmell, you may be a beautiful woman, and I'll give you that, but if you speak in to a microphone again, my windows in the Palace are gonna shatter in to a billion pieces. And Booker, come on, damnit, the 5 time WCW Champion should be tougher than to have to hide behind a skirt, I don't care who the hell she is. Grow some damn grapefruits, you has been haircut needin' sucka. Your gimmick is so freaking lame, it's beyond description.

Ok. Another Smackdown point. I saw Finlay compete for, what I think, was the first time ever for me against Paul Birchall. And I have to admit, I was impressed. Finlay knows how to throw them down, and he knows how to kick someone's ass. So, what does WWE do? Hire a midget to walk around smackin' Finlay's downed opponents in the side of the skull with that weapon he carries to the ring. How to make a WRESTLER into an entertainer. Ick. Makes me want to absolutely puke.

Now I can't comment on Mysterio vs. JBL because honestly, I turned it off. I couldn't deal with it. I am so tired of the remembrances to Eddie. I know, I know, hall of fame, the works. I give Eddie all the respect he so rightfully deserves, but come on, ladies and gentlemen, can we let the man rest in peace? I remember seeing Chavo Guerrero tear apart Rey Mysterio to win the cruiserweight title in San Francisco, California the night Eddie won the WWE title from Brock Lesnar, and now, Chavo isi n Rey's corner. How time flies, and how fates turn, but come on, it's over, let it rest, please, for the love of all that's good and proper with the memory of a legendary career.

That may be the only close to nice comment that may come out of this piece. Back to the venom.

Moving over to Raw, I can't figure out Foley being anti-ECW. He has been a face for so long, it's almost impossible to turn him heel, even with teaming him with the sicco Canadian Edge. I mean, really, it's not being portrayed as a heel turn, it's really being portrayed as a cluster F. Now, I like the idea of Dreamer and Funk teaming up, but this match is going to be so ultra ugly at One Night Stand, it may be impossible to view. A heel Mick Foley and Edge, who last year couldn't talk down hardcore enough against a 60 plus year old psycho and a man who, albeit still a violent fighter, has seen his prime come and go. Compare that to last year, when potentially one of the best tag teams on the planet competed against the violent fighter, and his partner, possibly the best hardcore man going today, (the Sandman). The comparison here is a bit hazy, but I think you get the point.

Speaking of comparisons, I recommend anyone and everyone read Lance Storm's latest commentary on stormwrestling.com about WWE and TNA. It's very enlightening. Really. If this man, who is one of the sports true technicians, feels this way about the creative direction of these shows, doesn't it tell you something?

Moving on, as thrilled I was to see RVD win Money in the Bank, his promo last week sealed the deal for me that there is no way, and I mean, no way in hell he's going to come out of One night stand with the WWE title. He can't handle the mike work. It's sad to say, ladies and gentlemen, but RVD's days in a WWE ring are numbered. If ECW doesn't take off like WWE thinks, expect RVD's career to be turning toward TNA, really quickly.

Now, I got guts saying that, considering RVD is coming to Long Island for an autograph signing the day before ECW, and I am planning on being in attendance. Will I repeat these words to Mr. MiTB? Hell no. I'm not asking for a death wish. But, it's still my opinion.

Moving back to Smackdown, kudos to WWE, MY GOD, I SAID IT, KUDOS TO WWE, for giving the tag titles to Paul London & Brian Kendrick. I hope they allow that team to develop as champions, as they can and probably will deliver a whole new flavor to the tag team division for Smackdown. One thing though, Melina and Nitro better get their acts together if they ever want to see work again, because I have to believe they pissed off someone good and proper to get fired like they did at Judgment Day. I have to be honest, it's kind of a shock to me, because reports I hear is Melina is a professional outside the ring toward the fans. I know there was a published bad experience, but that involved someone else who I won't mention here.

Speaking of firings, JBL is taking a break with his injuries, so he is now off Smackdown. I would, although I'd like to see a face GM, but JBL as GM of Raw would be interesting to see. I'd kill to see how JBL and Cena would interact as authority and champion. I am wondering why with no promotion whatsoever Vince is bringing in a GM. It's kind of scary how this can go, don't you think? Who would you think should be the new GM of Raw? I'll go with my original choice, and that's Dusty Rhodes, because I want to see a face authority figure on Raw. Teddy Long does such a good job towing the line on Smackdown, Dusty did it for TNA, let him do it for Raw.

I'm glad the supposed bisexual angle is off the table involving Orlando Jordan. Seeing Jordan get released doesn't surprise me, if you violate the security policies of where you work, you're done. Plain and simple. Jordan screwed up. End of story.

How bad is Three 6 Mafia? I saw their performance on Smackdown. Man, I am not so sure on this CD anymore. I picked it up for the Orton theme and for the HHH theme, the Saliva song for Batista also rocks, but the rest, whoa. It's kind of off the charts, if you ask me. Let me continue to digest it. I'll get back to you.

I really hope Vince is happy with torpedoing what could have been some major league buys with the reunion of DX. If Shawn is going to have surgery, and this DX reunion gets tanked because of it, Vince ought to be hearing cash registers go boom in the bump of the night, because truth be told, I was DYING TO SEE DX come back and fight the boss. Someone has to.

How much money did Vince have to shell out to Mark Callaway to let what happened sunday night actually take place? You cannot tell me that the Undertaker didn't hold a psychological blade to Vince McMahon's neck saying you damn well better do what I want, when I want, if you expect me to put this block of granite over. Dalip Singh may be a mountain of a man, but the Great Khali cannot do what he did to the Undertaker. It's not feasible. It totally just wipes away almost the entire legacy of the Phenom. I hope, and pray, for all parties involved, that there is an ass kicking in someone's future, soon.

I'm out of here. Plug time.
