According to reports, there was a very good feeling backstage among wrestlers and staff about the "WWE vs. ECW" special last night. Many were praising Vince McMahon for allowing the show to have a true ECW style with that "anything can happen" type atmosphere surrounding it, something RAW and SmackDown never usually have.

It should also be noted that WWE talent who worked the show had a lot of fun doing it and enjoyed working in the ECW style atmosphere. It was no secret that many within WWE were very skeptical about the new ECW brand, but now feel it has a strong chance to succeed given how much WWE allowed to take place last night heading into the PPV this Sunday.

For those wondering, the back and forth shots between Jerry Lawler and Tazz were not a shoot. The word making the rounds at the event was that both knew they had to work somewhat stiff in order to sell the fight to both fans in attendance and those watching even closer on television. It is no secret that wrestling fans can tell the difference between a real fight and a worked fight. Lawler and Tazz wanted fans to really buy the fight and I think everyone can agree that they did a great job selling the match for this Sunday.
