According to reports, WWE wanted the scheduled July 4 ECW on Sci Fi taping in Philadelphia to be pushed harder in front of the crowd, but Paul Heyman felt it would cause resentment and opted to take shots at RAW and SmackDown to get on the fans good side. That didn't exactly work in his favor as fans were very vocal about the new ECW. Heyman treated the taping as a new chance for the ECW brand in front of the crowd in that they could tape TV alone as opposed to taping every Tuesday night along with SmackDown.

Speaking of this event, many involved with the ECW brand have described the July 4 TV taping in Philadelphia at the Wachovia Center as being the most important ECW taping to date. As of now, the show has sold a little over 1,000 tickets according to Ticketmaster. The plan is to setup the building to be very intimate for 3,000 fans only. Whether or not the first two weeks of the ECW product on Sci Fi has turned fans away remains to be seen, but it will be interesting to see if the show sells out.

Andrew "Test" Martin, who recently signed a new deal with WWE and had a promo run on Sci Fi last Tuesday hyping his debut in ECW, was scheduled to work the House Show last night at the former ECW Arena. However, there was a creative change in plans as to how he will debut for ECW, so they pulled him from the show.
