Dustin 'Screech' Diamond Interview: Talks about wrestling scene, more
On Saturday, July 8, 2006 at 3:44 PM EST The following was transcribed by Mr. DFL:
“Saved By The Bell’s" own Dustin “Screech" Diamond was one of the special guests on this past week's live edition (7/03/06) of Monday Night Mayhem, which can be heard in streaming audio every week (and live from 7-9PM ET every Monday night) exclusively on The Monday Night Mayhem Radio Network (www.MondayNightMayhem.com, www.WrestlingMediaNetwork.com, www.ObsessedWithWrestling.com, www.Dory-Funk.com, & celebrating its 10th Anniversary, www.AudioWrestling.com -- your official home of "The Spring Break Incident" Video-On-Demand, featuring Stuff Magazine's all-new fitness correspondent, the hottest member of this past season's edition of ABC's "Dancing With The Stars," & WWE Diva, Stacy Keibler).
The interview with "Screech" is now available to hear for FREE in Real Audio! Here are some of the highlights from the interview provided by the show's senior correspondent, Mr. DFL.
The Big Mosh & The Mayhem's senior correspondent, Ho-Ju, both welcomed Dustin to program -- as "Your Home Of Wrestling Radio" is proud to be part of the "Save Screech's House" campaign. Dustin said that he is recovering from some late night comedy shows that he has been doing the past few weeks, as he continues to tour the United States doing stand-up. Mosh pointed out the fact that "Screech" is pretty close to a lot of the wrestlers in the business today, and Dustin referred to both Jerry "The King" Lawler & Sgt. Slaughter being two of his closest friends in the wrestling business.
Dustin then mentions that he knows a lot of the students that came out of the Hart Dungeon in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Dustin also made a very interesting comment/factoid that some fans might not have been aware of -- by saying that he actually teamed with The Blue Meanie in an inter-gender match against Gangrel & Luna Vachon.
Screech wanted to make it perfectly clear that he has been a huge supporter of wrestling ever since he was a kid. He believes that the business has evolved, mainly do to the television exposure -- from WWE Superstars, WWE Wrestling Challenge, & WCW Saturday Night to Monday Night RAW, WCW Nitro, Friday Night SmackDown, & "ECW On Sc-Fi." The product has a whole he loves to watch, despite whatever negativity he feels or sees on the internet.
The upcoming 2006 WWE Diva Search was the next topic of discussion, and Dustin feels that, as of right now, "it’s all about the eye candy." He has seen pics of the eight finalists, like the rest of the fans and all the women that final cut are absolutely beautiful. His favorite females in the business include Stacy Keibler, "whose legs took the world by storm," as well as Lita, who still gives off that dirty tomboy kind of look."
Mosh then asked Dustin if he had the chance to do another edition of Celebrity Boxing or if he could partake in a shoot fight, which celeb would he "dance with." Dustin answered point blank by saying Danny Bonaduce of "The Partridge Family," simply because "it's not all about the size or the looks -- it's all about being humble."
For more interesting thoughts in this intriguing & very interesting 35+ minute interview, which include: an update on how close "Screech" actually is to saving his house, whether or not Mark Paul Gosselar (Zack Morris) has contributed to the campaign, who Dustin thinks would win in a real life fight between Mario "Slater" Lopez & New Jack, & his takes on Jonny Fairplay trying to get into the new ECW, then you need to listen to the entire interview!

While you are at it, make sure you catch The Mayhem's exclusive interview with former ECW official/referee, Jim Molineaux -- as he gives "Your Home Of Wrestling Radio" all of the behind-the-scenes info from ECW's One Night Stand & the initial episodes of "ECW On Sci-Fi." What are his thoughts on Heyman & Dreamer not having more creative control? And why is World Wrestling Entertainment choosing not to bring back the original "extreme" refs, ring announcers, & several of their original stars? If you want to hear some truth at its finest, then Jim Molineaux is your man, and The Mayhem is your place.
