In an update to the story we reported Sunday, WWE Smackdown star Mark Henry had surgery Tuesday in Birmingham, Alabama by Dr. James Andrews.

WWE.com is reporting that the surgery was to repair his torn patella tendon (which he tore off the bone) and his patella kneecap that he broke in two.

The surgery is said to have been successful but that his full recovery timetable is not known. However, the "optimistic prognosis" is that Henry will miss about 8 months of action which would put his return sometime around Wrestlemania 23.

In any event Mark Henry is done for at least the rest of the year as he rehabs from his injuries.
