New reports state TNA - Spike TV close to announcing another hour of TV
On Wednesday, August 2, 2006 at 3:32 PM EST According to TNA and TV industry sources, a tentative agreement has been reached between TNA and Spike TV to expand iMPACT! two hours either starting this October or January.
Details regarding the matter are said to be ongoing at the moment. TNA management has been heavily pushing to Spike TV to get a second hour and the network has come to the conclusion that a second hour is a move worth making with the company at this time. Whether or not TNA will move out of the 11pm ET/10pm CT Thursday night timeslot remains to be seen (more than likely it will be 10pm-Midnight ET to accommodate the second hour).
New reports have stated that Spike TV sees TNA iMPACT! as strictly a "late night" show only, which could already be telling of what will happen when a second hour is added. There also reportedly been some talk about adding a second one hour TNA show to Spike TV's current line-up instead of giving iMPACT! a second hour. If this was to take place, it would likely run in the 11pm-Midnight ET and possible on Monday night where TNA use to have a replay back when iMPACT! ran on Saturday night. Seeing as the overrun for WWE Raw every Monday night draws the largest wrestling audience of the week every week, TNA could benefit by carrying over a WWE audience to their programming if they were aware of the show and switched channels after WWE. Either way, we will be sure to follow this story as it develops.
