*NWA Upstate is pleased to announce the FINAL teams for the NWA Upstate 8 2006 Tag Team Tournament. That’s right, we said TEAMS! Unfortunately due to conditions outside of NWA Upstate’s control, the Heart Throbs will not be participating in this years event. With that being said…
*The 7th team signed to this years tournament will be Icarus and Gran Akuma from Chikara Pro in Pennsylvania, known as Team F.I.S.T. These newcomers to NWA Upstate will have the best opportunity to showcase their skills to Upstate New York fans, and show us exactly what Chikara Pro Wrestling is all about. We will have more on Team F.I.S.T in the upcoming weeks.
*The 8th and FINAL team signed for this years tourney will be an International Dream Team! Chris Hero, who recently debuted with Claudio Castognoli at the Monroe County Fair, will be teaming with none other than Milano Collection AT! These two are no strangers to each other, and could possibly be the heavy favorites to win the entire tournament. Hero is known for his technical skills, as well as angering ringside fans. However Milano is well liked by most wrestling fans, and is known for his unique offense, which he crafted as part of the Toryumon T2P project. It will be interesting to see how these two co-exist on August 26th at the All Star Sports Arena in Rochester.
*We have HUGE news!!! Well sort of. It is more of a teaser. NWA Upstate would like to announce that the Upstate 8 2006 show will be the FINAL show at the All Star Sports Arena!!! NWA Upstate has a NEW home, and has signed 7 dates with the new venue, including the debut in October! However we will not announce the new venue yet. Be there to witness the best tag team wrestling in the Upstate New York today, as well as the FINAL show from the All Star Sports Arena!
*We have received word that “Roller Girl" Synndy was injured this past Tuesday night at the Ontario County Fair. It is unknown exactly what injury was sustained, but we’ve gotten word that Derek Duncum is responsible for the injury with a vicious shoulder tackle. Duncum, along with Vince Beach & The Czar are out to make a name for themselves, and no man, or woman, will stand in there way.
*With all 8 teams set for this years annual Upstate 8 tourney, we will now begin to announce the first round matches!!! The first match to be signed will see the returning Dungeon Dudes of Nick Neighborhood & Chuck Deep, taking on what seems to be the unstoppable team of Frank the Tank & Buddy Delmar, Rhythm & Booze! These two teams have yet to step into a ring together, and their first time match up will be sure to have the crowd at the All Star Sports Arena on their feet. Be there August 26th to see The Dungeon Dudes vs. Rhythm & Booze!!!
*This years Upstate 8 show will also feature the return of the ROCHSTER RUMBLE! The winner of this over the top Royal Rumble type match will receive a title shot at ANY title he (or she) wishes. Last year’s rumble saw many memorable moments, including last years Rochester Wrestling Hall of Fame inductee Barry Hardy make his return to a Rochester ring, as well as seeing JP Black win the rumble. JP later went on to challenge Jake N Bake for the Dojo title, and was victorious, showing just how important a win in the Rochester Rumble can be. We will announce many of the participants in the upcoming weeks.
*We will continue to announce the other 3 first round matches (along with the brackets) for the remaining teams in the tourney, as well as any other news with the show in the upcoming weeks leading up to the event.

Sin City Wrestling will be holding it's debut show at the Chubby Pickle Rock 'n' Roll Saloon in Windsor, Ontario, Canada on August 20th, 2006. Doors open at 5:30 PM. Tickets cost $20 and $10.
