www.FloridaIndies.com Break down of the Card:
Very solid lineup. Here's my preview of this show. All results since 8/01/05 impact this preview:
Cruiserweight Title Match: Legion Cage vs. Nooie Lee (C) for the ACW Cruiserweight Championship
Past History:
5/23/06 - Legion Cage d. Nooie Lee
6/06/06 - Legion Cage d. Bourbon Dragon, Nooie Lee and Diego Vasquez
6/28/06 - Nooie Lee d. Legion Cage
7/11/06 - Nooie Lee d. Legion Cage & Damien Angel
7/29/06 - Nooie Lee d. Legion Cage
Analysis:
In singles action, Nooie Lee takes the lead 2-1. Each has a win in multi-man matches. Nooie Lee has the advantage coming into this match as the champion.
FloridaIndies.com prediction:
Nooie Lee
Ralph Mosca vs. David Mercury
Past History:
4/11/06 - Ralph Mosca d. David Mercury, Aaron Epic and Sideshow
Analysis:
First time match between these two. David Mercury is 18-15-3 and Ralph Mosca is 21-8-0. This truly is the battle between the two top guys in ACW. Mosca wins the vast majority of matches he wrestles in, but Mercury is riding the wave of defeating Sideshow and winning the championship.
FloridaIndies.com prediction:
David Mercury
State Line (Eddie Taurus/Damien Angel) vs. Overkill (Marcus Hall/Vinn Detta)
Past History:
3/13/06 - Marcus Hall d. Damien Angel
3/28/06 - Damien Angel d. Vinndetta
6/20/06 - Eddie Taurus d. Overkill
7/04/06 - David Mercury & Damien Angel d. Overkill
7/18/06 - Overkill d. Nooie Lee & Damien Angel
Analysis:
First time match between State Line and Overkill. Damien Angel has beaten VinnDetta. Eddie Taurus has beaten both members of Overkill. This seems like a simple decision. Overkill does have the advantage of pulling a victory over Damien Angel, although Nooie Lee is no Eddie Taurus. Can Overkill ride the winning streak to victory here?
FloridaIndies.com prediction:
State Line
Torcher (w/ one arm behind back) vs. Pretty Fly
Past History:
8/08/06 - Pretty Fly and Big Daddy Pimp d. Torcher
Analysis:
Torcher is currently 4-7-0, while Pretty Fly is 8-17-0. Pretty Fly will have the advantage of Big Daddy Pimp and Dany Only on his side, plus the added advantage of having Torcher's arm tied behind his back. Torcher is on a 2-loss streak while Pretty Fly is on a 1-win streak. However, Torcher has an upcoming match with champion David Mercury and a loss will completely mess up his momentum heading into the title match. Will David Mercury counter the Pimp/Only advantage to keep Torcher healthy for his upcoming match? And if so, will this help come before or after the match?
FloridaIndies.com prediction:
Pretty Fly
The Cousins vs. Power Company Twins
Past History:
8/09/05 - Power Company Twins d. Vinndetta & The Cousins
2/21/06 - The Cousins d. Power Company Twins
5/23/06 - The Cousins d. Power Company Twins
6/28/06 - Power Company Twins d. The Cousins
Analysis:
Each team has two victories over the other, although PCT has the advantage with one of the victories defeating Vinndetta as well. PCT is 10-4-0 while the Cousins are 9-6-0. The Cousins do have a 2-win streak, while the PCT lost their recent match against Torcher and Tyson Tomko. Almost a perfectly even match.
FloridaIndies.com prediction:
Power Company Twins
Rod Steel vs. Bruce Santee (c) for the ACW Heavyweight Championship
Past History:
4/11/06 - Rod Steel NC Bruce Santee
5/30/06 - Bruce Santee d. Rod Steel
6/20/06 - The Empire d. Amy Love, David Mercury & Bruce Santee
7/18/06 - Bruce Santee d. Sedrick Strong, Rod Steel & Sideshow
7/25/06 - The Empire d. Bruce Santee & Amy Love
Analysis:
With the Empire, Rod Steel can't be stopped. But in singles action, Rod doesn't have so much luck. Bruce is a dominating force in ACW with a 13-2-1 record, while Rod is not fairing as well with a 5-5-1 record. The rest of the Empire doesn't appear to be on this card, so Rod might be in for some trouble this Friday.
FloridaIndies.com prediction:
Bruce Santee

Steven Ashe sent in the following GCW on August 10 report:
GCW Breaking Point
Aug. 10
From the Canadian Legion Hall in Oshawa, Ontario...
Adam Reed & Steve Brown beat Timothy Dalton & Amazing Darkstone and Alex York & Scotty O'Shea in a 3 way dance with a double pin on York & O'Shea.
Andrew Davis defeated Cory Mason & PD Flex in a 3-way dance when he pinned Mason
1st round, Tag Title Tournament:
Crazy Steve & Gutter beat the Italianos - double pin.
1st round, Tag Title Tournament:
Darth Cutthroatus & SouthSide Strangler #1 beat Oruko Ghemma & Rip Impact when Strangler pinned Ghemma after a "drunk driver" (A piledriver delivered after Strangler chugged a beer.)
After the match, the other Southside Strangler showed up and the masked men had a heartfelt reunion which pissed off Darth.
1st round, Tag Title Tournament:
Xtremo & Phil Atlas fought to a double count-out with Lionel Knight & Chris Bishop
Jessy Jones came to the ring after GCW President Dave Wyldstar talked about the Jake O'Reilly / Cherry Bomb incident from the last show and said that they had rejoined the company. Jessy was representing O'Reilly and had a list of "contractual demands" that had to be met before Jake would return, one of which was a title shot for the Ontario Independent Title on the 30th. All of Jessy's demands were agreed too.
Kris Chambers retained his Ontario Independent Title against Eddie Osbourne w / Jessy Jones
A - One defeated Mike Stevens in a match where Johnny Devine & Michael Elgin were handcuffed together at ringside despite interference from Eddie Osbourne and Elgin escaping the cuffs to add his help as well.
Sirelda (Jaime D) defeated Miss Danyah
1st round, Tag Title Tournament:
Tarantula Gomez and Cody 45 defeated Angel de Guerra & Ash
Johnny Devine pinned Michael Elgim to win the GCW Canadian Heavyweight title in a Lumberjack match but Jamie Virtue announced that Elgin was still the champ because original ref Dave Linton had not counted the pin. (He was squashed when Devine was back flipped onto him) Virtue said Devine had been disqualified. (Insert 'Bullshit' chant here) Next show it's Elgin & Bobby Roode vs Devine & Rhino.
