TNA hoping for bounce in ratings, Monty Brown's status in TNA, & Sirelda
On Tuesday, August 15, 2006 at 6:13 PM EST With a new season of The Ultimate Fighter returning to Spike TV this Thursday night as a lead-in for iMPACT!, TNA did their best to present a loaded line-up for the next three weeks at the TV tapings last night in Orlando, FL. TNA is hoping for a huge bounce in the ratings this Thursday night with last week's show dipping to a very low 0.7 rating. Most, if not all shows stayed in the 0.8 range since UFC programming stopped airing before TNA for the last few weeks. The goal is to get back into the 1.0 range with UFC returning as a lead-in.
Contract negotiations for a new deal between TNA and Monty Brown are still ongoing, but the belief within the company is that Brown is likely on his way out and could possibly be picked up by WWE. Brown taking the loss at the Hard Justice PPV against Samoa Joe is even more evident of that. Brown did appear at the iMPACT! tapings last night.
As of right now, the Hard Justice PPV was the last planned appearance for Sirelda in TNA. The feeling is that she has a unique charisma that hasn't quite come across on camera so far in TNA. She is well liked by those in the company so the feeling is that they will be giving her another shot down the line.
