» In the past few months, Pro Wrestling NOAH has graced the cards of IPW:UK multiple times. First, we saw Takeshi Morishima and Mohammed Yone. Then, we had the presence of Yoshinobu Kanemaru and Takeshi Sugiura.
Last time out Orpington was hit with the impressive Go Shiozaki, and the big bad SUWA. And now, Taiji Ishimori and Ricky Marvin will become numbers 7 and 8 to represent Pro Wrestling NOAH for International Pro Wrestling: UK.
With both men coming in at a much smaller, leaner weight than the likes of Sugiura and Morishima who’ve been over in the past, the style that Orpington fans can expect is that of a fast paced one. More information, including their route to Orpington, as well as their opponents for Saturday night will be announced very soon. But in the meanwhile…
» Ricky Marvin is considered by many to be one of the best Jr. Heavyweights in Pro Wrestling NOAH. Often found teaming or feuding with Kotaro Suzuki (who wrestled in England on the first Coventry super-show, as Tiger Emperor, impressing many), including an astounding near 30-minute long Mask vs. Hair match.
Come Sunday September 24th Marvin will be representing not only Pro Wrestling NOAH, but his home-land of Mexico, as he becomes the fourth (and currently, final entrant) into the Global Gauntlet match-up, to crown the best of the best in the world. His opponents will be:
PAC
The ‘big hit’ of 2006 across the UK scene, Pac managed to prove his worth in IPW:UK against the likes of Martin Stone & The Untouchables, Teddy Hart, Kevin Steen and Takeshi Morishima. And now Pac gets to step it up yet another level, as he goes into a one-fall survival gauntlet against some of the best in his field worldwide. The British favourite, could go from beginning to end quite easily.
ASHLEY REED
The man they call “Mr. IPW", Ashley Reed is one of the most agile, crisp and brutal young wrestlers on the British scene at the moment. With an amazing array of high-risk manoeuvres, tied in with an excellent ground based knowledge, and some joint wrenching submission holds. An outside bet to win if he gets a good draw.
ULTIMO DRAGON
Former WWE star and current NWE superstar Ultimo Dragon is one of the most famous cruiserweight wrestlers that the world has ever been graced with. Be it his innovative style in WCW, his work with his trainees in Toryumon, or his recent work with other high-profile stars in Nu-Wrestling Evolution, Ultimo Dragon is world renowned and definitely the favourite to conquer the Global Gauntlet.
» The following is direct from The Wrestling Channel’s weekly newsletter:
"TWC [The Wrestling Channel] are happy to announce that we have done a weekly 1hr deal with British promotion IPW:UK, which is expected to start in the coming weeks!"
After much discussion it has been agreed that in upcoming weeks IPW:UK will debut on England’s Wrestling Channel, available to Sky subscribers on TV channel 427.
Joining such other luminaries as TNA Wrestling, Ring of Honor, Pro Wrestling NOAH and many many more. In fact, with the increase in talent from TNA, ROH and NOAH on IPW:UK shows, IPW fans can check out the latest upcoming talent by switching on to all of the above shows and more!
We hope to bring you more information later this week.
