VPW 9/16/06 Official Results & Quick Notes
VPW returned this past Saturday to its home at the VFW Hall in Centereach, New York to a crowd of approximately 250 people. This was VPW's largest crowd to date. The event lasted just under 3 hours and had 8 matches. VPW officials would like to thank everyone who came out to enjoy a fun-filled night of action. VPW has announced a return date of Friday night, December 8th at the VFW Hall.
Referees: Ref John, Ref Pete, Ref Bennett
1. Papadon d. Richie Tyler
Right before the match began, Papadon addressed the crowd and apologized for his actions on the past shows. Many fans doubted his sincerity, but Papadon explained to them that he was a changed man. Towards the end of the match, Papadon found a chair under the ring and brought back in the ring with him. The referee stopped him from using it on Richie Tyler. Papadon then told the referee that he was right in stopping him. When the referee went to get the chair out of the ring, Papadon viciously attacked Richie Tyler, showing that his claims of change were most insincere. Following the match, VPW interviewer Jerry Fitzwater went ringside to get some answers. Papadon explained that winners never cheat unless it's him. Once Papadon left the ring, Fitzwater decided to stick around, going on a rant that incited the crowd. It was only after getting an "important phone call" while at ringside that Fitzwater finally left the fans alone.
2. Monsta Mack & Bison Bravado d. Dead Presidents
In the first disqualification in VPW history, Monsta Mack and Bison Bravado defeated the Dead Presidents after the Dead Presidents decided to use a ringside chair as a weapon. This hard-hitting match saw the Dead Presidents resort to using a weapon after getting frustrated with the two big men. When we last saw Bison Bravado in VPW, he was aligned with members of Team Philly, but it seems his old friend Monsta Mack seems to have talked some sense into him. Of note, Mack and Bravado came out wearing hats and dancing to Justin Timberlake. Could we have seen the birth of a new DHS, being Da Hat Squad?
3. Triple Threat: Javi-Air d. Sabotage w/ Don Tony &. Deranged
This was definitely the craziest and wildest match in VPW history. All three daredevils pulled out high-risk maneuver after high-risk maneuver in this one fall to a finish match. In all honesty, this is a match that you have to see for yourself in order to appreciate. Before the match, Don Tony spoke on Sabotage's behalf about his client's opponents. Don Tony certainly angered the fans in attendance, but the real anger came immediately following the match. The situations that developed after the match were as wild as what went on in the match. Right after the match, Sabotage began screaming at Don Tony for costing him yet another match. While this was going on, there was an altercation involving a fan in the second row, Deranged and Javi-Air. While Sabotage was going off on Don Tony, Deranged and Javi-Air were seconds away from coming to blows. Javi-Air was yelling at Deranged and said that if Deranged had a problem with the fan, then Deranged had a problem with him. Involved in an athletic match moments earlier, the two were now getting very heated.
The two arguments going on caused VPW to go to an unexpected early intermission to try and calm all parties down. It turns out that the fan was a good friend of Javi-Air, but we are still unsure what set them all off. Deranged left the ring, followed by Javi-Air and that left Sabotage in the ring with Don Tony. Just as Sabotage was about to crack Don Tony, Grim Reefer ran out and laid out Sabotage. It seems that Sabotage's insurance policy had an insurance policy of his own and a new client in Grim Reefer. Then just as things looked like they were about to calm down, Reefer's opponent, Jason Static ran down to confront the man that he'd be wrestling later on. Static and Reefer almost came to blows, but Reefer and Don Tony retreated.
Intermission
4. Intergender Tag: Danny Demanto & Alicia d. JD Michaels & April Hunter
After not only losing a match to April Hunter at the last show, but also suffering an unprovoked beating after the match courtesy of both April and JD Michaels, Alicia was able to get her revenge. The men wrestled the men, the women wrestled the women and the women wrestled the men in this lengthy intergender match. It's not often that you get to see matches contested under these rules.
5. MacDaddy Flexx d. Eric Adams
Both Flexx and Eric Adams were made their VPW debuts with this match. The Long Island fans really got behind Flexx early in the match.
6. 3-Way Elimination: Chopsaw d. Eug Perversion & JMS
JMS was eliminated first and later in the match a debuting enemy of Eug Perversion interfered and cost Eug the match. The working class wrestler Chopsaw was victorious, but Chopsaw's night was not done yet as he saved Jerry Fitzwater a lot of aggravation after the show. Fitzwater's car was having difficulties in the parking lot, but Chopsaw used his handy skills to repair it.
7. Eclipse w/ Jack O'Hearts d. L.I. Kid & DC Diamond
Jack O'Hearts undefeated team of Eclipse were victorious once again, keeping their streak alive. Of course they had a little assistance from the newest member of The Crew, Johnny Suburban who made his presence known.
8. Grim Reefer w/ Don Tony d. Jason Static
After an earlier confrontation, Static and Reefer were ready to go at it. Unfortunately for Static, Reefer had his newly hired insurance policy of Don Tony with him at ringside. This match had a lot of everything including flying canolis and a broken dish. In the end Static couldn't overcome the odds that were stacked against him before the match even began. It will be interesting to see if Static will exact some sort of revenge on both Grim Reefer and Don Tony.
