PWInsider.com is reporting that former WWE Champion Kurt Angle is currently preparing to compete in the world of MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) according to a number of strong sources close to the situation.

Angle's manager Dave Hawk has reportedly contacted a number of media outlets touting that Angle would make his MMA debut in 2007 and that he was currently in discussions with a number of MMA organizations. Angle himself stated in a recent interview with MMA magazine "Real Fighter" that he was interested in competing in MMA.

Since his release from World Wrestling Entertainment in August, Angle has not kept any contact with the company. You can imagine how much talk is being generated by this news already as numerous reports circulating have already started to hint at possible opponents for Angle such as former WWE Champion Brock Lesnar (who will compete for the HEROS MMA group in Japan) and former WWE Tough Enough winner Daniel Puder (who made a name for himself catching Angle in a keylock submission that could have forced Angle to tap out or even possibly injure him during a segment for Tough Enough). We will continue to follow this story as it develops.
