Xero Underground show canceled
Body: September 28, 2006, 2006
To The Talent and fans of Xero Underground:
As of September 28, 2006 the wrestling event is cancelled due to outside interference.
The committee of the Thurgood Marshall Center held a meeting with the community Tuesday the 26th regarding the noise and loud music (which is complete B.S.) Xero Underground presented at our debut show. Both parties decided and/or voted to cancel the wrestling event on Saturday September 30th, 2006 without Xero Underground representation or giving us a chance to plead our case. This was and is completely unfair because they have known about the show since July, long enough to address ANY concerns about the show! The building manager notified us by a phone call stating the show was canceled due to the surrounding residence’s concerns. They canceled our show 3 days before the event without any after thought or any ramification of our promotion.
This was going to be Xero’s breakout show. We invited essential people (cable TV and otherwise) to the show and now we must notify them of present situations. Not only does Xero Underground lose out on future profits but, we lose our credibility.
You cannot place a price on lost credibility. We put so much capital into this event that Xero Underground Promotions, Inc is in the process of seeking legal action against the Thurgood Marshall Center and their committee. Our lawyers have reviewed the contract and a lawsuit is indeed forthcoming.
Xero Underground apologizes for any inconvenience we caused you and we know you guys were expecting payment for this show but, we where expecting a crowd of wrestling fans ready to greet you all with admiration.
The cancellation of the show was not of our doing and we had no control of the outcome of then decision of the Thurgood Marshall’s committee or the voiced opinion of the community.
If there are any doubts about our legitimacy or any further questions about the show’s cancellation give the building’s director at Thurgood Marshall Center , Mr. Spencer a call at 202-462-8314. We encourage all talent and fans to call Thurgood Marshall Center and voice your concerns about this last minute cancellation. Voice your opinion there or email Mr. Hughes at THughes@xerounder.com or Morris Barfield at MBarfield@xerounder.com
Thank you for understanding!
Sincerely,
Morris Barfield Jr.
