The following took place on Tuesday in Wichita, Kansas:

WWE Friday Night Smackdown Tapings:

- Rey Mysterio & Matt Hardy defeated Chavo Guerrero & WWE Cruiserweight Champion Gregory Helms.

- Elijah Burke defeated Tatanka.

- Backstage, King Booker demanded that Finlay lay down to him tonight in their match picked by Bobby Lashley. Finlay refused and reminded him his name was Finlay and that he loved to fight.

- Finlay defeated World Heavyweight Champion King Booker in a Non-Title Match. Finlay got the win when The Little Bastard chased Sharmell around the ring allowing Finlay to hit Booker with the Shillelagh to get the pinfall.

- Batista vs. Bobby Lashley ended in a No Contest when Finlay ran out during the match and attacked Batista. King Booker then came out and attacked Finlay. WWE referees and trainers hit the ring to try and break everything up when Smackdown GM Teddy Long came out. He announced he was changing the main event at No Mercy to a Fatal Four Way for the World Heavyweight Title with King Booker defending against Bobby Lashley, Batista and Finlay.

- Backstage, King Booker, Finlay and William Regal were all arguing in Teddy Long's office about his decision to change the No Mercy main event when Batista came in. He asked if everyone could just get along. Long then announced Batista & Lashley vs. Booker & Finlay later tonight. No one seemed happy about the decision.

- Sylvan defeated Jimmy Wang Yang.

- MVP (Montel Vontavious Porter) had a platform set up. MVP cut a promo for the live crowd.

- Backstage, Mr. Kennedy cut a promo about his match with The Undertaker at No Mercy this Sunday.

- Michelle McCool w/ K.C. James & Idol Stevens defeated Ashley w/ Paul London & Brian Kendrick.

- Batista & Bobby Lashley vs. King Booker & Finlay ended in a No Contest when William Regal hit the ring. Batista and Lashley had a stare down to end the show.
