Reason for WWE changing main event for the No Mercy PPV on Sunday
On Wednesday, October 4, 2006 at 7:52 PM EST As reported on late Tuesday night, WWE has announced that the main event at the No Mercy PPV this Sunday for the World Heavyweight Title will now be a Fatal Four Way with King Booker defending against Bobby Lashley, Batista and Finlay.
The Wrestling Observer reports that this decision was made within WWE as no one in the company felt fans bought Bobby Lashley as the top contender for the World Title and worried about the buyrate for the PPV. The feeling internally within WWE is that Batista is the biggest draw on Smackdown right now and his involvement in the match will help, which ends up being rather funny as Booker vs. Batista was originally slated as the main event but was later changed.
As always, WrestleView.com will be providing *live* coverage of WWE No Mercy on Sunday, October 8 starting at 8pm Eastern/7pm Central.
