Dave Meltzer's Wrestling Observer reports this morning that AAA promoter Antonio Pena died earlier today after a massive heart attack. Early reports list his age at 53, although other sources have his age at 58.

No other details are available, although Pena had been ill for some time and had not been actively involved in the day-to-day operations of the promotion. News of his bad health had spread recently only to be denied by the promotion, with claims that he was "out of the country working on business deals". Other cover stories claimed hewas ill due to bronchitis.

Pena is expected to be buried in Mexico City tomorrow afternoon.
