Update on WWE vs. Christian battle over the rights to 'Captain Charisma'

According to an update on the USPTO website, a "notice of default" has been entered against William Jason Reso (aka Christian Cage) since Reso never responded to WWE's claims over rights to the "Captain Charisma" name before the due date of September 19 and never filed for a time extension. He now has 30 days from when the notice was mailed out (October 6) to give a reason why the notice should not be entered.

This will no doubt be the start of a very long back and forth legal process between WWE and Christian Cage over the rights to the "Captain Charisma" name, a name Christian started using in TNA after he left the WWE. PWInsider.com is reporting that since the name was created while Christian was working for WWE, it now becomes the intellectual property of WWE according to the terms of the contract Christian had with the company at the time.
