Jeremy Borash
Nick and Chris welcome Jeremy by plugging this Sunday's "Bound for Glory", TNA's first pay-per-view outside of Universal Studios' Impact Zone and saying that they'll be there on Sunday. Jeremy's quite excited about it: "We've waited for the right time to take the pay-per-views on the road, and this is the right time." Chris mentions watching TNA growing over the last few years, and asks JB what he thinks has helped TNA succeed to this point. JB credits patience and hard work, the crew, and taking an idea all the way from scratch to national TV -- "we've had a learning experience moreso than anything ... through the course of time it's made us all much better able to handle the situations that come up, good or bad."
Nick mentions some shakeups in TNA creative, and asks JB's opinion on that. Jeremy says it's been sensationalized on the internet -- no one lost their job, they were just given more specific duties, they just needed more help.
Chris Cash mentions Jim Ross and some other critics' accusations towards TNA of late, that TNA might not separate themselves from WWE, and might be trying to 'be' WWE -- JB replies with simply one word: "Umaga." Chris takes that ball and runs with it, mentioning that maybe Samoa Joe was supposed to BE the Umaga character. JB replies that if they came up with an "Undefeated Samoan Bulldozer" out of nowhere, then they really don't pay attention to much. "It's blatantly a ripoff. We can call names and do different things and whatever, but to me, as long as we put out an entertaining show ... I don't really pay much attention to what they're doing at all." Jeremy agrees with Chris that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, and that's true on both sides.
Nick mentions when he first saw Umaga, and said he really felt that was when WWE first acknowledged TNA as competition. Nick feels Kurt Angle going over there is just going to widen that. JB says he doesn't think Kurt Angle will be the last defector, and that more wrestlers just don't want the WWE-style schedule anymore. "They're doing it for family, and for keeping the semblance of a personal life ... for a company to provide a nice easy work schedule in terms of being on three or four times a month ... I can see that being very attractive."
This leads to Chris asking about the "Jackass 2" gimmick in the X Division, and whether or not it was Jeremy Borash's idea. He says no, it was actually a movie promotion, and he said they were thrilled to have advertisers coming to them and sharing the benefits of having the TNA audience like they do. "Yeah there were things about it that weren't obviously good ..." and that they were going to play the rest of it out this week. "Some things work, some don't." Chris also wanted to ask about Chris Jericho, and his song debuting on TNA Impact, mentioning all the teasers that have also appeared on Chris Jericho's site. JB replied he'd seen the video that will air, and "It's a really cool song" that will be the background to the 'go home' video package leading into Bound for Glory. Nick asks if this means anything more -- JB replies that he's not privy to it, but then he didn't know about Kurt Angle either, so he wanted to leave it at that. JB then left the show making a few plugs for Impact, Bound for Glory, and TNA's 2-hour prime time debut on Spike at 9 pm on November 16 before heading off.
Chris Harris
Chris Harris now joined Chris and Nick, saying that they were "talkin' dirty", mentioning the lead-in to Raw in his intro. Chris Cash begins by telling "The Wildcat" he's excited about this interview, because he's wanted to ask him about his position in TNA, and this is an ideal time, asking what it's like going into the biggest pay-per-view of TNA's history, and AMW doesn't have a spot on the card yet that he knows of. Harris responded by saying that this is big for TNA as a whole, and for the wrestling business, and that has to be "first and foremost on everybody's mind instead of being selfish ... first let's make sure that TNA is highlighted ... we're going on the road now ... we're not going anywhere, it's only getting bigger and better." Having said that, of course "you wanted to be highlighted", but "the wrestling business is a roller coaster ride, man." He still assures Chris and Nick that they'll be a part of Bound for Glory, match or no match. But he believes that the tag team match will turn into a four-way match, with them, Team 3D, the Naturals and the James Gang. "Just to be a part of a show like this, we've got to be happy with that, and it's a team effort."
Nick mentions the progression of AMW, and the talk of a potential split in the near-future and asks about Harris's thoughts on that. Chris replies that he feels he and Storm have made an impact on the wrestling business and a name for themselves; "we can stand up with any tag team ... [but] the focus just isn't on tag team wrestling anymore, and that's unfortunate." Chris Cash replies that everyone was looking for AMW vs. Team 3D when Team 3D arrived in TNA, and wonders how it will ever get back to that spot with Daniels and Styles at the top of the tag team division. He feels there's a lot more to accomplish competition-wise with AMW. Harris agrees -- "it's wide open right now, there are so many possibilities ... we could easily go back and entertain everybody."
Chris asks again about the potential breakup of AMW -- Harris said that it could happen tomorrow and he'd have no regrets, they'd always be remembered; that said, there was still a lot of life in AMW. "A lot of people would cry and be upset and it'd be a really sad time ... but also think about a James Storm-Chris Harris program, there's some interest there too ... it may not be the right thing right now, there's a little bit more we can do ... it's time for that roller coaster ride to get back to the top."
