Good ol' JR was a guest on The Bill Rosinski Show on WFNZ in Charlotte on Wednesday morning. Here's a recap:
They talked about Sooner football for a few minutes. Says that the Oklahoma offensive coordinator would be a good fit for vacant UNC head football coaching job. Believes running back Adrian Peterson will turn pro after this year.
JR was asked about Kurt Angle going to TNA. Says he respects Kurt and that he recruited him. Concerned about him coming back too soon because of medical problems. Says Kurt talking bad about Vince is not unexpected, wishes him the best.
Was asked about who the 'next big star' in the WWE is. JR says John Cena, Randy Orton and Edge will carry Raw into the future. Says Batista could carry Smackdown it if he stays healthy. Talked about Raw's 700th broadcast last week and the ensuing controversy. He says a replay showed a dark spot on JR's hand that turned out to be residue from chocolate doughnut. Everyone got a laugh over that.
Talked about the NBA's Charlotte Hornets that relocated to New Orleans and play a lot of games in Oklahoma City. JR says they'd trade Hornets owner George Shinn for a draft pick or at least a rack of ribs. Says the Hornets or possibly the Seattle Sonics will relocate to OKC and that it could happen in the next couple of years.
Talked about BBQ business. Says he could eat a hot dog faster than anyone except maybe Bill Rosinski. Plugged his BBQ sauce website and hopes to open restaurant in Norman in next few months. Is working with Food Network on a few projects that may make it to TV.
Talked about role in Andy Kaufman movie. Says last royalty check was $6.00. Says Jim Carrey was in character 24/7 and insisted eveyone call him 'Andy' while he was on set.
Gave upcoming appearance schedule including going to OU-Missouri game on Saturday before wrapping up the interview.
