Stampede Showdown (Evening show)
First off, not a huge turn out. About 90 people or so. Pretty disappointing since they apparently had almost 300 paid for the show with Rhino and Bobby Roode. BUT, this did take place on the same day as the Oshawa Santa Claus parade. So we know who out drew who. haha Not great planning...anyway, I digress. Here are the resaults;
We opened with the X-Terminators (Xtremo and Phil Atlas) defeating Egos and Icons (Steve Brown and Adam Reeve) in a pretty decent match. The Xterminators always have a good match. Xtremo has a pretty lame name but he's awesome.
up next we have the main heel group come out and beat down Mike Stevens for a while. Which led to GCW owner David Wyldstar announcing that Michael Elgin would be forced to defend the GCW Ontario Independant Championship on behalf of Jake O'Rielly.
Hayden The Destroyer def. Micheal Elgin to become the GCW Ontario Indepentant Champion.
After the match Hayden was attacked by Cody Deaner, Deaner handcuffed Hayden to the ropes and beat on his injured shoulder.
Hornet def. Rip Impact - damn Hornet is good.
Crazy Steve and Gutter were suppose to defend the GCW Tag Team Titles against True Steel (Jay Fenix and Killer Kumph) but Gutter no showed. So Crazy Steve went to the back and brought out Miss Danyah. Danyah and Crazy Steve won with a double pin. - Suprisingly good.
Up Next was suppose to be The Southside .vs. The Darkside. The Southside Strangler and Darth Cutthroatus were once a tag team and now are feuding. Cutthroatus was going to name his new partner and face The Southside Stranger #1 and #2, but only Strangler #2 showed up. So Darth Cutthroatus named his partner as "IMPACT" Eddie Osborne. Sweet. But since this was a tag match Wyldstar forced Strangler #2 to pick a partner...anyone employed by GCW. So he chose Gentleman Geoff (The ring announcer). Bad match, but Osborne is still awesome. The match started with some Comedy as Gentleman Geoff kept running away and tried to avoid all physicality. The finish saw a clusterfuck with Geoff hitting Cutthroatus with the LightSaber and getting the pin. So naturally when it was all set and done Osborne beat the hell out of Cutthroatus.
Intermission - Xtremo, Phil Atlas, Nattie Neidhart and TJ Wilson signed autographs.
After the break Jake O'Reilly (without his championship) defeated Danny Duggan by coutout after Jessy Jones hit Duggan with a bottle of booze. - that made a mess.
Before the match GCW Canadian National Champion Johnny Devine came out and declared Danny Duggan the new "HOTSHOT", and told Jones to keep his nose out of the match or he'd break it. After the match the beating of Hotshot Danny Duggan continued untill Devine ran out and made the save.
While the glass was being cleaned up Hayden Avery...I mean Hayden the Destroyer...made his way out to the ring all bandaged up and challenged Cody Deaner to match on December 28th at GCWs Seasons Beatings. Deaner came out and declined the challange but issued his own for the belt right then and there. Hayden accepted.
Cody deaner def. Hayden the Destroyer to become the new GCW Ontario Independant Champion. - I Love It! ha! The whole match Deaner worked over Haydens arm and shoulder. The finish saw Deaner have Avery in a sick Fujimora armbar. He pulled and pulled, it looked REAL snug. Avery eventually passed out.
In the Main Event TNA took on the WWE as Johnny Devine battled TJ Wilson in a 2 out of 3 falls match.
This match was soooooo good. About 10 minutes in, Devine got tossed upside down into the corner and landed hard on his head. It looked like his own knee hit him in the face and his nose started bleeding. It seemed to take him a little bit to get his barrings back. The first fall went to Devine after a fish out of water spot with at least a dozen near falls. The second fall went to Wilson, I didn't see exactly what he did but my friend described it as a "Slingshot Suplex" ?? I don't know. anyway...Johnny Devine won the match the sickest Piledriver I've ever seen. It went just about 30 minutes. sooo sexy. TJ Wilson is unbelievably talented. It was a great match.
After the match Devine got on the Mic and thanked TJ and called him a future Hall Of Famer. The entire locker room came out and all got in the ring to give TJ the big send off. Wilson got on the mic and thanked GCW and thanked the fans and thanked independant wrestling. He got a standing ovation and a loud "Thank You TJ" chant, it was actually kind of emotional.
Over all it was a pretty decent show.
