AWESOME promotion on January 6, AWA World-1 South debut & NEPW

Dec. 2 - The Wrestling World is still buzzing about today's HUGE Main Event announcement for January 6th's Era of AWESOMEness Begins show to be held at the American Legion Post at 1400 Bay Blvd. in Seaside Heights NJ 08751 (bell time 7 p.m., doors open at 6).
The Patriot has signed with American Wrestling's Elite Stars Of Mat Entertainment and will Main Event AWESOME's debut show going against one of the sport's top rising stars and technical wrestlers in "Simply Stellar" Travis Blake.
"Travis is an A-list talent deserving of being in our main event," said Vice President of Talent Relations Bodhi Lebowski. "After we signed him to contract yesterday he stated that he would wrestle anyone we could find. Well I think all wrestling fans across the world will agree the Patriot is not just anyone!"
Indeed, the Patriot's pedigree in this sport goes back over 15 years. He first arrived on the National television scene in 1991 when ESPN decided to get into pro wrestling with a promotion known as GWF. Patriot would rise to the GWF ranks quickly becoming their first champion despite the presence of competitors like Mick Foley (as Cactus Jack), Demolition Ax, Terry Gordy and Sweet Stan Lane on the roster. Later Patriot would go on to hold tag team gold in both Japan and in WCW (alongside Buff Bagwell). Perhaps his most famous run occurred in 1997 when he entered the WWE and headlined a Pay Per View by challenging Bret "Hitman" Hart for the WWF Title. He has remained a very active competitor since then continuously performing before sell out crowds across the Good Ol' USA.
"I am very pleased to be joining AWESOME for their Jan. 6 show in Seaside Heights," said The Patriot. "I have wrestled at the Jersey Shore many times. It's always been one of my favorite stops as I continue to tour all across our great country. I look forward to once again greeting my fans in the area."

We have promised to lead the way in family-friendly professional wrestling shows and having the Patriot on the roster will be such a treat for the young children in our audiennce. Someone who knows quite a bit about heating up the ring, is Totally AWESOME Wrestling's lead commentator Jay Blaze. "When I signed on with AWESOME, I was excited about the chance to call the great matches that I knew Mr. Lebowski would be putting together for this brand; but this Main Event exceeded even my expectations. This is going to be a classic in-ring battle between a Legend who has been on top of the mountain for years, and between a rising star who is climbing to the top of the mountain in record time. Come Jan. 6, I'm going to enjoy this match just as much as our fans," said Mr. Blaze.
"The Stellar Superstar" however remained his usual cocky self when informed of his opponent. "I'm sure Lebowski thinks he tricked me up by bringing in a ringer like the Patriot to face me. But the honest truth is he has to fly in a Legend because no one else on the roster is in my league. Look The Patriot is agreeing to this match because he wants to get the rub of being in the ring with me. Yeah, sure his resume is impressive. He's been on TV almost as much as I have. Is is the Patriot good? Sure. But is he Stellar? I think not. And on Jan. 6 it is not The Era of AWESOMEness that Begins, It is the dawning of the era of Travis Blake."
"Travis Blake can say whatever he wants," said the Patriot. "He wants to be the best and I admire that; but the way to prove your the best isn't by talking about it; It's by climbing in the ring and winning Main Event match-ups and that's something I've been doing for years."

Vice President of Talent Relations Bodhi Lebowski is pleased to announce the signing of Biggie Biggs to compete with AWESOME. Biggs is an exceptional wrestler with over ten years of experience, and has held numerous titles across the country. He is also rumored to have the some of the deadliest chops in the business.
"Biggie Biggs was an obvious choice to add to the AWESOME roster," stated Mr. Lebowski. “I took one look at his list of his accomplishments in this industry and was astonished by the fact that he was not under any current contract and I would be out of my mind if I didn’t make him a part of this organization as soon as possible. No pun intended, this is our biggest signing so far. Biggie is truly an Elite Start OF Mat Entertainment as he is just a tremendous in-ring talent yet also one of the most charismatic and entertaining performers in all of wrestling. I think our fans our really going to to enjoy seeing Bigge compete on our shows."
Aside from wrestling, Biggie Biggs just loves to have a good time; and standing at six feet and four inches tall and with a weight of over 300 pounds, you could call him one big party animal! With all the dance and club scenes around in Seaside, New Jersey, he’s bound to have tons of fun both in and out of the ring.
Mr. Biggs stated “I don’t like to brag, but there is very little in this business that I haven’t done. AWESOME seeks to add some innovation to independent wrestling and I’m a big fan of trying new things. I personally came down to the Jersey Shore to meet with the management of AWESOME and after hearing their vision for the company I knew this was something I’d like to be a part of."
Biggs will make his in-ring debut with AWESOME at The Era of AWESOMEness Begins on January 6 at the Seaside American Legion Post 351, Seaside Heights NJ 08751 (7 p.m. belltime, doors open at 6).
"The only problem with signing a wrestler of Biggie's talent and reputation is now finding a worthy opponent for him," joked Mr. Lebowski
Getting more serious he added, "Since news of this signing broke, phones in my office have been ringing off the hook from young wrestlers looking to make a name for themseves by challenging Biggs at The Era of AWESOMEness Begins. Our fans can rest assured I will screen all the applicants to select the best possible opponnent for Biggs."
No matter who he faces, Biggie Biggs is sure to have a great night and he will no doubt give wrestling fans a teriffic match that they won’t soon forget.

AWA World-1 South's debut in Savannah on 1/20/07 at the Alee Shrine Temple just keeps getting bigger and better! AWA Southern Champion Glacier will defend his title against Scotty Riggs renewing their heated rivalry in what will be a big match for both men. Glacier has successfully defended his title recently against Dustin Rhodes but knows from his many battles with Riggs in Turnbuckle Championship Wrestling that this is going to be a brutal match. Riggs recently returned to professional wrestling after a lengthy absence and plans to make the most of this opportunity, "Glacier has got what I want and that is the AWA Southern Heavyweight Title and I can guarantee all the fans in Savannah that when I walk out of the ring it will be with that championship belt!"
