WWE possibly releasing more talent from ECW brand, + JR & January 1 |

Danny Doring's release from World Wrestling Entertainment last week could be the first of many talent being let go from the ECW brand. With no more ECW brand House Shows taking place and WWE shifting wrestlers from Smackdown to ECW such as Bobby Lashley, there are now fewer roster spots for ECW mid-carders. Anyone who isn't considered a TV draw or a higher-end worker could be expected to be released in the upcoming weeks.
Jim Ross was not granted his request to take the day off on New Year's Day so he could attend the Fiesta Bowl in Arizona between his Oklahoma Sooners and Boise State. Ross added the following on his blog: "What better way to spend New Year's Eve than flying to Miami... and then kicking off 2007 broadcasting Raw? Some of us are just too blessed aren't we?".
