WORLD-1 In The Press

Pro-Wrestling WORLD-1 was fortunate enough to be the front page news story of this week’s Trend Leader Community NewsWeekly newspaper. Staff writer Stephen Silver wrote a wonderful piece on not only the Rebirth Or Destruction event on Sunday, January 7th but also about WORLD-1 assistance with the MAJIC Foundation.

A percentage of ALL W-1 ticket sales and sponsors go to the Morgan Arthur Jr. Inspirational Center fund, which is raising money to create a kids-only gym at the Phoenixville (PA) Area YMCA’s. Health and role models of kids today are at a rapid decline and the MAJIC Centers would help youths learn how to exercise, eat, and be role models for other youths in the community.

AWA World Light heavyweight championship preview
For over one year, Kirby Mack was the cornerstone of the AWA Light heavyweight division, holding the World championship from July 30, 2005 until December 2, 2006 when during a ladder match between him and Xiris, his brother TJ Mack betrayed his own flesh and blood and walked up the ladder and took the championship becoming the only the 8th champion since the AWA World Light heavyweight championship was created in 1981.

A lot of friends of the Mack brothers point the blame to the ever-flamboyant Thomas "Boom Boom" Simpson. Simpson has been known to belittle the younger TJ on rides up and down the east coast telling him that he will never be the star in the AWA like Kirby is and that Kirby is more marketable. It seems like all of this was a plan to mess with the mind of TJ to make him turn on Kirby. It has been rumored for a long time that Simpson wanted to manage Kirby Mack but was turned down.

Now Thomas Simpson, acting on behalf of TJ Mack, is now out to get Kirby Mack. At first, WORLD-1 was pleased to book their first ever Brother vs. Brother match but now the stakes are even steeper as members of the ROH Academy have been added to make this a 6 way!

Who will walk away with the AWA World Light heavyweight title? We will find out at Rebirth Or Destruction!
