JUST SIGNED: CONRAD KENNEDY III TO BATTLE CHRIS KOLE: LAST MAN STANDING

After several weeks of admanent requests from a wounded yet determined “Killer" Chris Kole, CAPW management have deliberated in decided in favor of a Chris Kole vs. Conrad Kennedy III rematch to take place on Sunday afternoon January 14 at Turner’s Hall with a 3 p.m. belltime. One much shudder to think what may take place on the 14th based on some of the events that have taken place during Kole and Kennedy’s first two meetings in CAPW.

Conrad Kennedy spent the night in the hospital following his first encounter with Kole this past November. CK3 was the victim of a vicious high-angle back suplex from Chris Kole, leaving Conrad with significant neck trauma, and just inches away from further more permanent injuries. While Kole certainly did not intend to seriously injure Kennedy, and was merely trying to win the match, this didn’t stop Kennedy from holding a grudge. During their one-on-one rematch at our last live event, Kennedy threw the wrestling rulebook out the window, and rather than have an athletic contest with Kole, became dead-set on seriously injuring Kole. Moments into the encounter, Kole’s nose was busted open and possibly broken as a result of Kennedy’s viciousness, and by the time the match ended, Kole was surrounded by steal weaponry, covered in his own blood pouring out of several areas on his upper body.

Since that night, Kole has demanded management to sign a rematch, and upped the stakes by requesting it be one of the most dangerous matches in wrestling today: A Last Man Standing Match. Based on the actions of Kennedy at our prior show, and several examinations from medical staff who deemed Kole physically able to return to the ring, the match was APPROVED and we WILL see a Last Man Standing Match January 14!

A Last Man Standing match is truly career-threatening. It’s not about scoring a pinfall, or out-wrestling somebody. It is about beating your opponent so badly that he loses consciousness. It is about inflicting so much pain on another person that they are unable to answer the referee’s ten count. One man will be punished until their body simply gives out on them. It will be violent, it will be emotional, and it may be career-ending. At least one man will not walk out of Turner’s Hall under their own power on the 14th. And only one will be the Last Man Standing.

UPDATED ADDITIONAL CARD FOR CAPW LIVE ON JANUARY 14

Cleveland All-Pro Wrestling returns to the famed Turner’s Hall, 7325 Guthrie Avenue, on Sunday afternoon January 14 with a brand new start-time of 3pm, with doors opening at 2pm.
In addition to the brutal Chris Kole vs. Conrad Kennedy Last Man Standing Match profiled above, this just added to the card this week…

CAPW TAG TEAM TITLES: Faith In Nothing vs. Michael Hellborn/Barry Saggitarious
Before FIN even think about the potential tough challenges of Q&A and Irish Airborn, they’ll have to survive another hellacious test first: the seemingly unlikely duo of “Dr. Abomination" Michael Hellborn & Barry Saggitarious. Hellborn has proven time and time again that absolutely no one has the pain threshold he does, as he’s survived men like Abdullah the Butcher and Necro Butcher in singles compeititon. Meanwhile, Saggitarious bring a completely different dynamic to the table. A man who certainly doesn’t think along the same lines of most others, Barry’s unorthodox way of doing -- well, everything -- certainly makes him one of the toughest athletes to prepare for in CAPW. Can this unlikely duo click well enough to claim tag gold or will Faith in Nothing turn back another amazing challenge?

In addition to these matches already announced…

CAPW Heavyweight Title Match: Tracy Smothers vs. Bane
Tracy Smothers may have been the one to pin Claudio Castagnoli to win the CAPW Title on December 3rd, but it was Jason Bane’s devastating Baneline that knocked Claudio out cold. After Bane did the dirty work, the veteran Smothers picked his spot and stole the victory and the title that Bane wanted to re-unify with his Television Title for a historic second time. This time, they’ll be no place for Tracy to hide, as he has to collide with a 6’8" 300+ pounder one-on-one. Can the Wild Eyed Southern Boy survive Jason Bane one more time, or will CAPW’s top two championships be dominated by one mountain of a man? And how does the recent news of Tracy Smothers now being under the direction of the controversial Krystal Frost impact this scenario and the future of the CAPW Title?

CAPW Junior Heavyweight Title Match: Johnny Gargano vs. Azrieal
The deep roster of Jr. Heavyweight Title contenders to Johnny Gargano keeps on growing. In addition to top challengers like M-Dogg 20 and Zach Gowen still on the horizon, another major independent name has put their name into the hat of contention. Azrieal, the east coast standout who originally gained fame as Angel Dust of Special K in Ring of Honor, has in recent years abandoned the raver image en route to becoming a more serious well-rounded contender. It seems CAPW management has taken notice, as his reputation has warranted him not only a CAPW debut, but an opportunity at the Jr. Heavyweight Title as well.

Irish Airborn vs. Q&A - 2 out of 3 Falls
Jake & Dave Crist, collectively known as Irish Airborn, have made a major mark on the tag team scene in recent months. The Crists have brought high-risk and high-impact to a tag division quickly gaining a reputation of being just that. Virus & Unknown, collectively known as Q&A, are still on the comeback trail following Virus’ months-long sabbatical due to reconstructive shoulder surgery. Both teams had a breathtaking & evenly-matched contest at “Season’s Beatings", so much so, CAPW management could not determine a clear cut top contender to tag champions Faith in Nothing. Therefore, a rematch was ordered for January 14, and this time it’ll be 2/3 Falls. There will be no chance of fluke victories here, as someone will have to soundly defeat their opposition TWICE to move up in the rankings. Rumors has it Tag Champions Christian Faith & Vincent Nothing have been keeping an extremely close eye on both of these potential challengers, and are already preparing themselves for battle against whomever may emerge victorious. One thing we can count on is this contenders’ match will not be one soon forgotten.

“One Legged Wonder" Zach Gowen vs. Josh Prohibition
Josh Prohibition’s alliance of convenience with Johnny Gargano was working to a fair bit of success at first. The duo joined forces to help combat mutual enemies such as Zach Gowen & M-Dogg 20, however when Gowen & M-Dogg united to even the odds, the results became mixed. Such was the case last month when Gowen scored the winning pinfall in the six man tag team match, defeating the opposing team, which included Josh Prohibition & Gargano. Josh was reportedly “humiliated" over dropping such an important match to his long-time friend/enemy M-Dogg, and current top rival in the Jr. Heavyweight Division, Zach Gowen. Prohibition was quick to challenge Gowen, and it’s no surprise that the Tenacious Gowen was even quicker to accept. However, with Johnny Gargano also scheduled to be in the building, and Gowen’s frequent ally M-Dogg 20 rumored to have contractual obligations elsewhere, has Zach Gowen encountered one obstacle that is simply unconquerable?
