TNA/APW House Show Results - 1/5/07
Location: Lisbon, Portugal

Marco sent in the following report:

There was a poll on the last couple of weeks, where the winner of an SMS fan poll would face Kurt Angle. Choices to vote: Jeff Jarrett, AJ Styles, Samoa Joe, Christopher Daniels.

Show started off, with lots of the front crowd seats empty. In nearly 7000 tickets available, we had at least, beyond 5000 people in attendance.

1st match: was Jerry Lynn vs Brother Runt. Weird booking for this match. Jerry desearved a better opponent. Still, win from Runt.

2nd match: IPW UK was represented, by Pac, Spud, Jonny Storm, and Jody Fleish. Christopher Daniels came out, and said Jarrett was in Spain (huge boo) and he wouldn't be here, so he would get out of the pole and give an X division title shot at the winner of the match this match. Winner was Storm. Spud worked as a heel. After he lost the match he attacked Storm.

3rd match: Team 3D vs VKM. VKM worked as heels. Kip James asked the crowd not to call him Billy (due to chants) and showed his ass. Team 3D called him "Maricas" that means "sissy" "pussy" "gay". Spud came out and helped VKM. Team 3D won the match. They even put VKM through a table. Urray!

4th match: Christian Cage vs Abyss for the NWA World Title. Even with Christian insulting the fans, and working as a heel, fans were behind him. Lots of peeps. Winner - Abyss.

5th match: AJ Styles vs Rhyno. AJ was huge here. Winner - Rhyno, via gore, with Both man shaking hands.

6th match: Daniels vs Jonny Storm. Probably the best match on the card, with lots of chain and psychology, as well of high spots. Winner - Christopher Daniels.

7th match: APW 10 man gauntlet. The worst match on the card. Winner and new APW champion, Mad Dog.

8th match: Christy Hemme defeating Gail Kim. Portuguese singer, and former wrestler, Axel, and one of the responsibles for this show, as well as the voice of TNA on eurosport, was the referee for this match.

9th match: Samoa Joe vs Kurt Angle, with Samoa Joe tapping out in the ankle lock.

Notes:

- The IPW-UK chant during the 4 way x-division match. Most were started by portuguese wrestlers from the NWR (another portuguese wrestling group).

- During the womens match, a group of people in the front row, badmouted Axel. This people were former apw wrestlers that APW management expelled from their roster, due to their big egos and thinking they are better than everyone.

- There were lots of ECW chants to Lynn and Rhyno, and Team 3D, that led to them knowing that people do remember them from those days over here.

- Christian went to ring side before his match, arguing with a fan that was on one of the top rows. This fan was an NWR wrestler.

- After the Team 3D match, they picked a fan from an audience, a little boy named Jorge, and gave him a piece of the table, and also started a chant for him.

- ROH chants given to AJ and Christopher Daniels.

- Lots of Ravel chants from where I was during the APW gauntlet. For what I know, Ravel is a portuguese wrestler that was supposed to wrestle at this event but got pulled out of it due to disputes with management.

- Lots of NWR chants and Prophet chants. Prophet was a portuguese wrestler in the gauntlet that was trained and started wrestling at the NWR.

- Lots of NWR members in the event as well as FPW (another promotion) in attendance. FPW is going to do a show, in AlcobaƧa, Portugal, on 19th January. Good luck to them, as well as former (expelled) APW members.

- The portuguese match was the worst. Ive seen better wrestling from other groups in Portugal.

- There was a rumor that Samoa Joe wasn't happy with the ring, as well as most of the american wrestlers.

This show, wasn't really an APW show. TNA can't promote in Portugal under its own name, for what I've heard. So they used APW. And it was electricity promoting.

There was lots of IPW chants as well as ROH. Maybe one of this two companies could do some shows with the other portuguese feds, NWR and FPW.
