Consecutive Sellouts Start WWE’s Road To WrestleMania
STAMFORD, Conn., January 31, 2007 – World Wrestling Entertainment® performed to three consecutive nights of sellouts in Texas as WWE officially kicked off the road to WrestleMania 23, which takes place on Sunday, April 1, 2007, live from Ford Field in Detroit, Mich.
On Sunday night, more than 14,500 enthusiastic WWE fans attended the sold out AT&T Center in San Antonio for the Royal Rumble live event pay-per-view. The event was highlighted by Undertaker® winning the 30-man Royal Rumble® to earn a title shot at WrestleMania 23. The following night, Monday Night RAW® Superstars performed to a capacity crowd of more than 14,000 fans at the American Airlines Center in Dallas. Then on Tuesday night, a sold-out crowd of more than 12,400 witnessed the SmackDown® and ECW® taping at the Toyota Center in Houston.
WrestleMania 23’s Fan Axxess tour has been greeted by record crowds since it started in January. More than 15,000 people attended the Texas portion of the tour held in San Antonio this past weekend.
