The following took place on Tuesday in San Jose, CA:

Dark Match:

- Funaki defeated Bradley Jay.

WWE Friday Night Smackdown Tapings (Air Date: March 2):

- World Heavyweight Champion Batista kicked off Smackdown again this week coming out and saying he wasn't intimidated by The Undertaker. The gong then hit and Undertaker appeared on the TitanTron cutting a promo on Batista.

- Matt Hardy defeated Joey Mercury in a "Money in the Bank" Qualifying Match.

- Scotty 2 Hotty, Jimmy Wang Yang & Shannon Moore defeated WWE Cruiserweight Champion Chavo Guerrero, Gregory Helms & Daivari.

- Vince McMahon came out to the ring. McMahon said they would announce a special guest referee for the "Hair vs. Hair" Match at WrestleMania 23 this Monday. Hmmm...I wonder who it is? He talked about what took place on ECW (footage was shown of Lashley splashing through the cage and it landing on Umaga). ECW Champion Bobby Lashley came out and got in McMahon's face. McMahon told Lashley he would pay him double what Trump was paying him to back out of the match. Lashley declined, so McMahon slapped him. Lashley got a crazed look on his face and McMahon bolted from the ring.

- Backstage, Mr. Kennedy asked McMahon to give him a title shot against Bobby Lashley tonight. McMahon made the match stating that Kennedy couldn't be disqualified or counted out, but that Lashley could and his title would be on the line.

- Ashley Massaro defeated Jillian Hall.

- Finlay defeated WWE U.S. Champion Chris Benoit & MVP in a "Money in the Bank" Qualifying Match.

- It was announced that next week on Smackdown it would be Batista vs. Kane and The Undertaker vs. Finlay.

- Bobby Lashley defeated Mr. Kennedy to retain the ECW Title. Kennedy kept taking advantage of the No DQ/No Count Out rules for him, but Lashley continued to kick out.

Post-Taping Bonus Match:

- World Heavyweight Champion Batista defeated King Booker.
