Time for a quick run down of picks for Lockdown. I totally forgot the PPV was tonight, I was too far engrossed in the enjoyment of ROH from friday night and finally getting Final Battle 06 on DVD. So, let's do this thing.

Christy Hemme's Mystery Team vs. VOODOO KIN MAFIA

Is it me, or did we do this already? I thought we did this last month and it flopped like a dead guppy when Romeo Rosselli and Antonio Thomas did their one and done stint in a TNA six sided ring. I think this time it will be the Basham Brothers, and although it's entirely possible that the Bashams could pull this out, this feud has got nothing left in the tank, and should be crucified in this cage match for the sake of the product. Due to the fact that I could be wrong, and this could someone totally different, I won't pick a winner, but the facts are the facts. This is redundant, with a capital R.

Special Referee: Mr. Backlund
SENSHI vs. the AUSTN STARR

You know, any potential match involving Low Ki and Austin Aries, and you'd have to pry me away with a crowbar not to be in attendance. However, this one does bother me, because the gimmicks have taken away from their abilities. This match is a vehicle to put Mr. Backlund over, a man who should be able to get over without having to resort to anything else except his ability. But, I digress. Senshi has become an after thought in the X Division, which is a shame, and Starr's place in the X Division is in absolute limbo and disgrace because of this so called feud. Nobody who wins or loses this match will gain anything because quite frankly, you can't get nothing from nothing. I'll pick Aries because he had a bad weekend in ROH on friday night when he got his ass kicked by the NRC. I would suspect he'll get some revenge, somewhere.

WINNER: The Austin Starr

GAIL KIM vs. JACKIE MOORE

I see Gail being hurt here. Badly. Jackie is so much more powerful and vicious than Gail, and in the environment of the six sides of steel, God knows what Moore is prepared to do to take out the Korean beauty. While I have ZERO problem with seeing Kim wrestle, this match is tailor made for her opponent, and unless Harris teaches her some violence in a hurry, Moore is gonna tear her apart.

WINNER: Jackie Moore

Blindfold Match
CHRIS HARRIS vs. JAMES STORM

Is it possible that the TNA brass has finally gotten to Chris Harris to join with the program long enough to get this match in place? Or is this yet another punishment for the Wildcat to end up getting fed to the wolf in the Cowboy James Storm. One way or another, hopefully this match breathes some fire in to a feud that's been nothing more than run ins and idiotic retreating on the part of the Tennessee native. This has the potential to be really good, or really bad. No middle ground here. Give the win to Storm because frankly, I don't think Harris is out of the TNA doghouse yet.

WINNER: James Storm

PETEY WILLIAMS vs. ROBERT ROODE

Welcome to limbo, volume 1. May I take your stalled career and move it laterally? Williams and Roode have been stagnant since the removal of Team Canada, and this will do little for either one's status within TNA. Will it be entertaining? Sure. Will it be fun to watch, certainly. Both men are exceptionally talented, and Roode is one vicious bastard when he wants to be. However, Roode seems to have his mind on other issues, see Eric Young, and Williams just seems to be lost in the product lately, and that makes this match impossible to call. There's little build up here, and that's just sad because both men can put on a good show.

WINNER: Robert Roode

I think Ms. Brooks will earn her keep tonight.

JERRY LYNN vs. CHRISTOPHER DANIELS

I read a report that Daniels has been acting weird at indy shows, keeping to himself, and appearing almost "depressed." I would not imagine why with the ridiculous attempt at a heel turn that he has been forced to undergo through TNA brass. Can he turn heel? Sure, but he should focus on Jerry Lynnn, because together, they could provide a well thought out program, and not do these ridiculous attacks a la Sting with the ball bat, and the weird face paint. Forgive me, but the "Fallen Angel" was just fine with the role he was in, and should've stayed put. Give the win to Daniels because quite frankly, I do expect the viciousness he is trying to portray in TNA to be on display in full force here, and that in its own right, should be more than enough to take out the X Division pioneer.

WINNER: Christopher Daniels

XScape Match for the X Division Championship
CHRIS SABIN vs. SONJAY DUTT vs. JAY LETHAL vs. ALEX SHELLEY vs. SHARK BOY

Ok. Shark Boy is in there for filler. We all know it, we all hate it, but it's the deal that TNA has dealt him. It sucks, but we have to accept that. Lethal has been getting the push from Nash, and I wonder if it can help him out in this surrounding. I doubt it, especially with the experience on the part of Sabin in title matches. Shelley has proven he can get his hands dirty, but the question is, is he prepared to go all the way in the match to get the chance at the title? My gut says no. That leaves Dutt and the champion. Something in my heart says that TNA is going to give the loyal playa from the Himalaya a chance to run with the gamut. He's been the most talented combatant in the X division never to hold the title. I think it ends tonight. Give the win to Sonjay, and let's see what he can do with the belt.

WINNER: New X Champion: Sonjay Dutt

Electricifed cage match for the NWA World Tag Team Championship
LAX vs. TEAM 3D

Personally, this is dangerous. Yeah, I like the blood, the guts, the gore, and the weaponry just as much as the next guy, but the use of electricity? That's over the line as far as I can see, and I am geniunely scared for these four men. I know TNA will figure out a way to make it work, but is it really necessary to go this route? Barbed wire would be a hell of a lot more safer, if I can believe I'm saying that, and potentially get the same message across as this contest will. I hope all the men survive this match. When it comes right down to it, I don't think 3D beats LAX for the tag titles. It'll happen, 3D will win the belts, but not from LAX. Someone's going to have to beat LAX for 3D to get back in the game after this match goes down.

WINNERS: LAX

Lethal Lockdown
NWA World Champion CHRISTIAN CAGE, AJ STYLES, SCOTT STEINER, TOMKO & ABYSS vs. KURT ANGLE, SAMOA JOE, RHINO, STING, & JEFF JARRETT

Personally, I like the concept. I saw last year's match, and I liked it. I wondered why the roof came down ten minutes after Sting came in the ring last year, but I digress. However, this year's match is much more unpredictable. With Cage throwing out title shots like water, the egos on the team that are liable to blow up at the slightest miscalcuation, and Sting's obsession with the monster Abyss, this match has the potential to turn in to a giant cluster - F. Combine the fact that the winner gets a title shot at the next PPV, and it screams that Jeff Jarrett will figure out a way to get the pinfall and get back in to the title picture. However you slice it, there should be a nice aura of unpredictability coming through in this match, and that could lead to some nasty spots from all of the combatants. I hope some of these guys can keep up. Rhino, Cage, Styles, Abyss, Joe, and Jarrett have the experience in the concept cage matches. Steiner, Angle, Sting & Tomko do not. With all that being said, it's time to make a pick. I see Team Angle getting the win, with Rhino pinning AJ. This way, Rhino and AJ can continue their feud, there's obviously heat between Cage & Rhino leading in to next month, Joe's not going to get the shot because of his mouth, Sting and Angle are liable to go after lesser name talent for the time being until it's Angle's turn to run with the belt, it leaves Rhino, Steiner, and Tomko. Abyss is liable to be involved with Sting, Tomko is liable to screw up further widening the tension with Cage, and TNA doesn't trust Steiner, I have to believe that. Give all that, put it in to a pot, and I think Rhino pins AJ to win the match for Team Angle.

Did you get all of that? No. Don't ask me to repeat it, because I am not sure I got it. : )

WINNERS: Kurt Angle, Samoa Joe, Rhino, Sting, & Jeff Jarrett
