Angle goes into Lockdown with injury, feedback, Team 3D makes history
On Monday, April 16, 2007 at 6:38 PM EST Kurt Angle went into last night's Lockdown PPV with a back injury that he suffered at Friday's House Show in Springfield, Missouri.
The most talked about feedback backstage was the negative fan reaction to the Blindfold Match between Chris Harris and James Storm and the cheesy effects with the Electric Steel Cage. Many agreed the matches didn't work due to the gimmicks involved, although many were defensive to the "Fire Russo" chants that broke out because many in the company don't feel he deserves the brunt of the blame for these things. I did see one report where a fan spotted Vince Russo leaving his seat during the PPV when the chants broke out during the NWA World Tag Team Title Match.
Speaking of that match, Team 3D became the first tag team in wrestling history to hold the WWF/WWE, WCW, ECW and NWA Tag Team Titles by defeating LAX last night at Lockdown. Although, it can be said that the WCW Tag Team Title reign wasn't as legit considering they captured the titles when WWE purchased the company.
