Shark Boy settles a lawsuit over name & report from Louisville, KY event
On Monday, April 23, 2007 at 3:27 PM EST PWInsider is reporting that TNA's Shark Boy recently settled his lawsuit against Dimension Films and other entities over the infringement of his copyrighted and trademarked named "Shark Boy" in the recent film "The Adventures of Shark Boy and Lava Girl in 3-D." The case was closed on April 20 by the Southern District Court of Ohio. Judge Susan J. Dlott noted that the case can be reopened on June 19 if agreed settlement terms were not completed.
Shark Boy also issued the following statement on his official website (SharkBoy.net) regarding the situation: "After nearly two years of legal proceedings, the trademark lawsuit with Dimension Films, et al., has finally been settled for an undisclosed amount. Shark Boy™ wishes to thank each and every one of you for supporting him throughout this long ordeal, and plans to continue entertaining fans of all ages throughout the world for years to come!"
Shane Adkins sent in this report from the TNA House Show in Louisville, Kentucky last Friday (April 20):
Hey I attended the TNA House show and I thought I would pass along a few things that I did not see you had on the results.
First of all Eric Young was way over with the fans, which were about 2000.
Jeremy Borash was very professional as my seat was right behind his. You won't find a nicer guy I don't think.
LAX was way over as were everyone else. The only real people who got no cheers where the Naturals and Robert Roode. I am a Naturals fan though. At one point in the match, Chase Stevens did a great 5 moves in a row which got a great reaction, when everyone got quiet, half the crowd shouted you still suck though.
Also Chris Harris took the eye patch off during the mixed tag match which started out one on one with Gail Kim and Jackie. Gail Kim is very impressive as well.
Rhino was to take on Abyss in a street fight but it didn't happen so the open challenge was answered by Doug Basham and Damaja, so apparently he is going back to his roots. Before the match they got on the microphone saying they started out in the gardens and they moved on to bigger and better things, which got a boo, and then they said TNA which got a great reaction. Rhino won with a gore through the table but at one point they went to where no one could see them and it got a we want lights chant.
TNA also said they would be back by the time 2007 was over possible with a PPV. Jim Cornette mentioned it after big PAY PER VIEW Chant started and he also made a bash toward Vince by saying that us the fans wouldn't let some billionaire in Connecticut tell us what kind of wrestling to watch.
The match of the night was AJ Styles and Samoa Joe in which the crowd was split in who they cheering for. It got a this is awesome chant during and after the match.
The crowd was also split in the Angle/Christian match which saw at the end, AJ Styles and Christian beat down on Angle until Abyss made the save. AJ helped Christian get the win with a distraction to the ref, which gave Christian time to low blow then hit the unprettier. This was a title match as well.
Overall TNA gave a great show and I hope it comes back to the Gardens like they said they would.
